Sri Lanka's premier public school Royal College, Colombo has been selected as one of the best innovative schools in the world by Microsoft.

This has been described as not only an achievement for Royal College but also for the entire country especially as this has happened within 2009, the year of ICT and English as declared by the Government. It was stated that Royal College was selected after a thorough evaluation of the applications received from thousands of schools across more than hundred countries in the world, Royal College has beaten many schools in all the countries and managed to place its name at the first slot in the list.

Congratulations and I understand that the principal will be flying to Brazil to accept the award.

I was privileged to have been there for 13 years or so and though it was a long time ago I am very happy to hear about the award for the old school. Nice to know the same high standards are being maintained now as then.

Nice to see you here. Was bit busy and travelling past few weeks. We are all ok. Had two funerals during two months. Aunt who was living with us for long time, died a month ago. Nice to to see you here. Did not feel like writing to the forum much as too much of hatred instead of trying to understand each other.

Sorry to hear the sad news.

Understanding on all sides is so important, I agree.

Think Asif is feeling the same, he too has stopped posting.

Rav seems a good guy though and Sinhala Gueeser, so there is hope for the forum!

Thanks for the compliment. Did not realise the addictive nature of a forum.

You would have been four years junior. Top in cricket & rugby we were in them days. I still try to keep up with the Royal Thomian & Bradby by reading the SL papers even though I have been here 33 years. I can still hear EC (kataya) sometimes in my dreams. Nice to have met a fellow Royalist on the forum.

I am sure the details will be available soon. As I understand there had been over 1000 applications from over 100 countries and the competition was supposedly held over a six month period.
