The way I see it, the Koreans are so busy trying to be anything other than Koreans. Look at all the plastic surgery to do away with the slanty eyes.

Whell I read this NYT article and i had ignored it.
Now I have this view about the views of South Koreans. In Germany I havde some friends from South Korea and they dream that OBAMA will shape the world( with the help of all the deprived people around the globe) a congenial one to die. But they are not with US whishy washy politics |

Hell, most Americans are sick of our wishy-washy politics. They are driven by special interest groups who provide $$$ in exhange for favorable legislation. It's corrupt! By the way, I'm married to a Korean and watch their TV daily. Their politics are no better than ours and as your Korean friends can tell you, contacts are everything, as is bribery especially when it comes to jobs, educational access, govt red-tape, etc. |

“Our ethnic homogeneity is a blessing,” The Koreans history has been one of keeping their blood pure a matter of intense pride to them. The typical Korean detests mixed-blood children and inter-racial relationships. They have tolerated it for years especially with US soldiers (I was one) based in their country. Now Koreans are increasingly turned off by doing manual labor so they have been bringing in foreigners to do it for them which I think will only increase the hostility. Of course as a German you are familiar with having Americans based in your country and have "gastarbeiters" and the fallout that occures from the clash of cultures. By the way, the TV show they talked about in the article, "Chit Chat of Beautiful Ladies" is really good. I watch it every Sunday night. They typically have two Germans in the group. |

With high regards and due respects for the DREAMS and CHANGE and HOPE of those innocent people in USA I beg to request them to make an effort to realize your dreams and make some change to enthuse the family with hope.
I have a dream to learn American English |

Nukes aside, the South Koreans have a military easily capable of handling the North. Korea is mountains and valleys and the South Koreans have prepared obstacles/bunkers/fighting positions, etc to slow any advance plus they have technology, better training and equipment on their side. And the help of US forces. Use of nukes would result in a likely US response inkind. |
