French volcano expert killed in Ecuador

It is a terrible tragedy what happened to the french lady. I hope the police finds the criminals and solve the reasons for this violent attack.
This kind of violent incidents puts Ecuador in a bad position. We foreigns who like to visit Ecuador are afraid thinking that the same can happen to us.
I love Ecuador and I don't want to feel afraid to visit my friends down there.
The police needs to work more efficiently to fight these violent crimes.
Ecuador is a beautiful country with friendly people. But security is important for foreigns and the people from Ecuador.

Charlotte was not a volcano expert.
She was conducting research on biodiversity at high altitudes which sometimes required her to stay on volcanoes.
This being said, she truly loved ecuador volcanoes and ecuadorian people from her barrio where she lived. Above all, she disliked all kind of violence ...

The situation in Quito Ecuador is deteriorating quickly. The economy is worsening due to a lack of support from a government more focused on staying in power than fostering economic development. Security is non-existent with today's killing of a hotel employee in a "good" area further evidence local police are ineffective. Either you contract your own security or go without.

frank, do you live in quito? when you say things are deteriorating quickly, what else is going on? has the police made any arrests in either murder?

I understand it was an arrest of three individuals who killed the French lady. I got goosebumps when I found out she was shot in the heart after they asked her to kneeled because she was taller than the criminals. The robbed her. I heard they were cold when they talked about the crimen and they showed absolutely not remorse. I wish Ecuador would have the death penalty for these kind of cold hearted criminals.

I really sad. Because someone kill my other families in Quito, Ecuador. But I don't want someone kill my families. That why I'm scared if someone kill them. But I'm from Ecuador,also when I was baby. And Now I'm living in New Jersey since 2001. I really wish that I was there. But I can't. Because If I was there and I will be never back to NJ with my families. That why I don't want it.

I heard about that all the people kill another people in Ecuador. Because my some family told me, and I was shocked. Quito is my only home when I was baby. I hope it not mess up in Quito, Ecuador. I also want to talk to my cousins on msn. But They're not online right now. Oh Well, I pray to god for them. I love them alots. And I miss them alots.

You seem very scared and worry for your family in Ecuador. It is understable. I know the situation is bad in Ecuador because the laws are so weak and so corrupted.

Hopefully something will be done soon. People are getting tired of being in fear.
