I was just watching this documentary about Djbouti and i was surprised at the strong French influence ( culture/language), some of the people interviewed speak french better then their mother tongue they appear to be more assimilated to outside influences then the rest of Somalia which has been colonised by both British and the Italians. You will hardly find Somalis that speak Italian in present day Somalia..my question is why has the French managed to have a large impact on Djbouti and rest of Somalis were able to resist the influence of european colonizers

I am ashamed to share the name Somali with Djibouti.l I have noticed many of their girls have no sexual limits. Post civil-war somalia was the top economy in the region djibouti hardly came up but now we are facing lotss of difficulties such as piracy, insurgency from radical millitant groups, famine, and above all a bunch of illiterate people in a country.
