Brendon Grimshaw question

Watching the BBC programme on Seychelles last night I was wondering whether the eccentric Brendon Grimshaw is gay. He has never married and did have a Seychelles chap as hs companion on Moyenne until recently. Just asking.

I wondered the same. I suspect so.

The conservation aspects of his island is accepted and admired but to live 50 years without female company suggests a man at peace with his lone male companion.

A man's character is what make him interesting. Is gayness off the conversation agenda for Swiss people Mr Christian. If so the Swiss must be very dull.

I totally agree with Hans, Brendon Grimshaw does amazing things that half of the human race aren't even capable of, and when you Google him to find out more infomation, people ask if he is gay? As if it matters? Does it make his work less admirable?

No. But his true character remains a mystery. I wonder if his autobiography offers up any clues.

Actually I met Brendon Grimshaw 22 years years ago at the Beau Vallon Rotary Club and he was an annoying and irritating character then. Irrespective of whether he was gay or not. The BBC programme last Sunday on the Seychelles confirmed what I have always thought about him. A right prat!

Yes. Travel to Seychelles. Find a hotel, then go to Masons the local travel agent. Then book a trip to Moyenne Island for about $15. When you get there an 86-year-old man will rush up to you and say I am the famous Brendon Grimshaw who bought this island for $12,000 50 years ago. Then he will irritate you so much with his self-obsessed anecdotes that you will swim back to Victoria immediately without saying goodbye.

Thanks for the info. I guess I may not enjoy the famous Brendon Grimshaw...but I would love to meet the tortoises.

The great man Brendon Grimshaw has died. I hope the Seychelles authorities keep his island as a national park and look after it as well as the self-styled Robinson Crusoe did. Goodbye Brendon, a Yorkshire eccentric and friend of the Seychelles.

RIP Brendon Grimshaw.. what you did for Moyenne island was truly amazing..

My wife and i met him ten years ago on his island.He spent a lot of time showing us his island.He was very warm,informative
and extremely entertaining.He left a lasting impression on both of us.
A wonderful man.

I went to his Island in 1988 and found him a very interesting man and his man Friday worked for him. I think he was a person who maybe just never settled with a woman and at no time did he ever seem to be gay just a great man.

There are many men who never get involve in a male-female relationship, but they not gay either.

They are so peacefull with themselves and found better things than sex or pro-creation.

They care for other things that married men don't have time to care about, and where sex/family tights might drained their energy in focussing in deeper natural humanists stufs.

He was simply this kinda guy!!

Appreciate, don't hate...not many human can reach such level of conciousness!!

Hey, chill out Mr. Thought Police! Who made you the Sheriff of the web? So what if these people are asking questions?! I had them too. What's it to you? Those questions do not pretense any malice in any fashion towards Gays or Brendon. Your display of attitude is probably one of the reasons why Brendon got of the grid - to get away from a world being populated with small minded brown shirts policing everyone's thoughts and to tow their Orwellian, party line. Do you have any more interesting - and intelligent ...- judgments?
