My local newspaper in UK says a 72-year-old british women drowned at Beau Vallon beach, Mahe, as a result of a strong current near the Coral Strand hotel. I have swum there many times and don't recall a strong current only water resembling a village pond! Very calm it was. Anybody remember this death or the alleged current.

It might have happen, sometimes you will have current and strong waves in the North West monsoon, when the wind comes staight in the Baie, but lots of times in the Sey.drowning occure, due to a lack of physical fitness, and people will go out and get too tired to swim back and drown.

oh, she has a right to enjoy the Seychelles Ocean at 72. I have enjoyed myself at the Coral Strand Hotel for years before I left Seychelles, I was there every single sunday and during the weeks whenever I had time after working hours. I have never known of anyone drowned there in front of that hotel.

It is the best hotel in the Seychelles I would recommend it to anyone going for holiday there.

Something must have gone wrong somewhere. Seychelles is a destination you will never discover the truth.

My Sympathy to you all.
