The GRiDemC, Grass-Roots international digital education movie contest executive committee, is a small nonprofit organization in Japan. We send the invitation of applications to a contest to teachers in the world.
We, GRiDemC, perform this contest for the purpose of promoting making and introducing the usable digital movie works as teaching materials for grass-roots mutual understanding in the world society. GR means grass-roots.

The theme of the 1st contest：“our town -- people living here and their lives”
We invite digital movie works to the children in the world. Every work should be kept the conditions as follows.
1) digital movie works introducing your town,
2) Each of them can be watched within 10 minutes.
We accept any type of expression, for example a documentary, a drama and an animation etc..”Our town” means your home town or/and the town your school exists. If you consist of a group, the town should be the home town of one of your member, at least.

* Qualifications of application*
Teacher or a group of teachers of secondary school, high school, junior high school, elementary school and kindergarten anywhere in the world.

* The 1st application period *
From March 1, 2008 to March 15

*About examination and the prize*
The examination committee whom we appoint chooses one grand prix and presents 100 US dollars as a supplementary prize. In addition, we choose several excellent works. We notify the prizewinner of it, and show the movie works, the prizewinner full names and the profiles on our web site. We perform the choice by the last day in March. The announcement is April 15.
