Inspirational and Motivational Quotes...Thoughts

What are some positive quotes or thoughts that have helped you through some rough moments? Care to share some of that inspirational and motivational wisdom that has made a difference in your personal outlook towards life in general, people, situations et cetera????

Sometimes we get forwards in our email that we tend to avoid...lol, even when its from family members and friends. However, there are some that are quite touching and make you step back and say..."Hey...thats right!" lol Please feel free to contribute and share why it impacted you(that's optional) or how it really made you think twice and its value as one of Life's positive lessons.

Golf balls , Pebbles, Sand and Coffee!!

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full they agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar . Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided,“I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things- your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favourite passions–things that if everything else was lost and only they remained your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.
The sand is everything else — the small stuff.
If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued,“there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.”
Take care of the golf balls first — the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.“I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

LOL Mars, you reminded me very much of my ex. After a long period of silent treatment, she tell me "she loves me"!!! The only difference is when you tell me that, it sounds more genuine!!! Te gali o koe!!! Luv ya more...:)

Moon & tribe, I hope ya'll don't mind me posting Carth Brooks' song in here. It's inspiring to me, so I'll just dedicate it to my ex's who are now living in Texas.:):):) It pretty much sums up my attitude about them... lol

Another inspiring oldie that reminded me of my time serving God, Country and Corps. Hope you like it.

Friends, this is Tex Ritter with a strange story about a soldier boy and a deck of cards.

During a North African campaign, a bunch of soldier boys had been on a long hike, and they arrived in a little town called “CASSINO”(A small town about 100 miles south of Rome).

The next morning being Sunday, several of the soldiers went to church. A sergeant commanded the boys in church, and after the Chaplain had read the prayer, the text (or Sermon) was taken up next. The soldiers who had a prayer book took them out, but this one boy only had a deck of cards, and he spread them out.

The Sergeant saw the cards and said,“Soldier, put away those cards.”

After the service was over, the soldier was taken prisoner and brought before the Provost Marshall.

The Marshall said,“Sergeant, why have you brought this man here?”

“For playing cards in church sir.”

“And what have you to say for yourself, son?”

“Much sir.” replied the soldier.

The Marshall said,“I hope so, for if not, I shall punish you more than any man was ever punished.”

The soldier said,“Sir, I have been on a march for six days, and I had neither Bible nor Prayer Book, but I hope to satisfy you Sir, with the purity on my intentions.”

With that, the soldier started his story.

“You see, Sir, when I look at the ACE; it reminds me that there is but ONE GOD.”

“The DEUCE (two) reminds that the Bible is divided in two parts; the OLD and NEW TESTAMENTS.”

Life is too short 2 wake up in the morning with regrets, so....<3 the person who treat u right 4get about the one's who don't & blieve that everything happens for a reason. If you get the chance take it, if it changes 'ur life, let it. nobody said it'd b easy they jus' promised u it would be worth it...@>-%--- live, learn & move on..life is full of possibilities

Don't let some1 bcome a priority in 'ur life, when u r jus' an opinion in theirs =)
