The Rape of Falluja: U.S. War Crime

The rape of Fallujah was a heinous criminal act, a war crime worthy of the Nazis. In addition to the Czech town of Lidice, it recalls the martyrdom of Guernika in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War, a massacre immortalized in Picasso’s painting of a cry of anguish. The obliteration of Fallujah was a war crime worthy of Zionist Israel, which bombed the Palestinian refugee camp at Jenin into oblivion after an Israeli tank was taken out by intifada fighters.

Much of the Pentagon’s strategy and tactics in Iraq are in fact borrowed from the Israelis, including blasting in every house entered, allegedly to avoid booby-trapped doors. But more to the point, the destruction of Fallujah was a hideous war crime worthy of U.S. imperialism.

The destruction of Fallujah inevitably calls to mind the words attributed to a U.S. officer in Vietnam at the time of the Têt offensive:“we had to destroy the village in order to save it.” That certainly is the mentality of the U.S. military in Iraq today.

In Vietnam, the United States killed upwards of 3 million Vietnamese during eight years of war. In the Korean War, the U.S. slaughtered more than 2 million Koreans. In World War II, the U.S. notoriously slaughtered more than 200,000 Japanese with the atomic bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. This came after the deliberate firebombing of Tokyo in March 1945, in which the U.S. murdered more than 100,000 people. Or the U.S./British firebombing of Dresden, Germany, part of the Allied imperialists’ systematic campaign of terror bombing German cities in the latter part of World War II which killed an estimated 635,000 German civilians. Not to mention the countless bloody crimes of Yankee imperialism in Latin America: Bay of Pigs invasion, Pinochet coup in Chile, contra terror war on Nicaragua, death squads in El Salvador, the rape of Grenada, the invasion of Panama, etc.

The imperialists try to justify the slaughter at Fallujah by pointing to the grisly beheadings of hostages by Islamic fundamentalist groups. Beyond the fact that many, if not most, of the hostages work in one way or another for the colonial occupation regime, and that the upsurge of Islamicist outfits (both Sunni and Shiite) is a direct response to the imperialist war of conquest of Iraq, one can safely say that far more Iraqis have been beheaded by the imperialist barbarians with their high tech weaponry than by the medievalist Sunni zealots with their swords.

<quoted text>Dimitry , with all due respect why don't you look at your own criminal president and your own corrupt country. You have a great mess on your hands with Chechnya, with 40 000 civilians dead, Caucasus, collapsing economy, fascism growing, xenophobia, alcoholism and poverty.
I don't know who posted this post but how can this be true if people flock to US all the time and nobody wants to go to Russia.
You may not like current politics in US but you should take a good look at the whole picture ans see that US is loved very much by those who is seeking stability in life, country of great opportunities. I think, people are forgetting that life is very short and not to cherish a good thing is the great sin. US is not Norway, but if you are unhappy person , the greatest country in the world will not make you happy.
My country was very poor, we were poor but I love my Ukraine. I miss it terribly. My circumstances were pressing and I had to leave. I cried for months when I came to Canada and nothing made me happy. I loved my bed at home, my close, my yard with flowers, my chickens and even chicken poop in the yard. I loved the smell of apples in the garden and my cherry trees, and snowdrops under my window in the spring.
It makes me emotional even now 20 some years later.... I would trade all I have here in Canada for what I had in my beloved Ukraine today in the heart beat.
Canada is a great country just like US, and let me tell you that I would not be able to survive hear for this long if it wasn't for the great appreciation I have for all the goodness this country have to offer.
Its like having a loving , understanding step mother, who became your best friend and let you grow and mature in the secure stable home.
I don't understand people that hate US. I really don't. Politics is one thing but America is a very generous country, supporting and giving to anyone in need, accepting even those who shouldn't' be accepted , protecting even those who shouldn't be protected and still.... there are people that harbor those unreasonable feeling toward this great country, without really knowing it.
you miss the point...USA is good for those who live in USA, but mean to all others - it is like in some terrorist group- they are ready to sacricifice their lifes for each other, yet they constantly killing people beyound their group - that is why americans themselves are patriotic, but USA is hated by so many peoples and nations around the world who are not north americans - its that easy.

There were many inhumane crimes that happened in Fallujah. The US Military did not give a damn about the about the residents of Fallujah. The US Military had become the Terrorists.

The inhumane action that resulted in War Crimes by The US Military in Fallujah was the equivalent of modern day Nazi SS Officers lead by a modern day Hitler. US Military is composed of trigger happy Soldiers. Soldiers who cannot wait to shoot their new high tech weapon and get that first kill and having no remorse or guilt about it!!

What’s key is to draw the political lessons, beginning with the fact that this is not just “Bush’s war,” as so many of the opportunists and pseudo-leftist say, it is a war of U.S. imperialism.

The current war is the product not of a president or a policy or a particular party, but of a system which has produced an endless string of wars over the last century, from the Spanish-American War to the Korean War in the 1950s to the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba and the Vietnam War in the 60s, to the Afghanistan War and the contra war in Central America in the 80s, to two wars against Yugoslavia in the 90s, to the Afghanistan War in 2001 and the Iraq War in 2003, both of which are continuing. And to the assault against Libya today!!!!!- GlobalFreedom

I spent thirty-three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle-man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents-U.S General Smedley Butler

There you have an actual American military man worthy of respect(like Bradley Manning) stating the truth! Nothing the US does is about liberating anyone or protecting US citizens it is and always has been about profit for corporations! The assault on Yugoslavia was to the benefit of multinational corporations, the assault on Iraq was to the benefit of multinational corporations, the assault on various Latin American countries was to the benefit of multinational corporations, and today the assault on Libya is to the benefit of multinational corporations!!!!

What a maroon you are!!!....LOL, ROFLMAO!!!! Tell the whole story. You are talking a bout a man born in 1881 and died in 1940!!!!! He didn't serve as a combat commander in WWI but instead confined his thoughts to sanitation???...LOL THIS is the best you can do??? You can't find someone a bit more current with better credentials? LOL You think that maybe things might have been a bit different back in the early 1900's? Jezzzz

Suicide bombings, and beheadings on Utube and you speak of imperialists {laughable in the extreme as its nothing but self defense} then you even talk of Mosques being destroyed purposely,, I can say from experience of actually being there that a Mosque ceases to be a Mosque when the enemy {IE Your friends} shoot at you from them knowing full well that the coalition has a mandate not to engage unless absolutely necessary. The same goes for Schools, Libraries, and madras’s. You post dribble,, Even worse then dribble,,, Out and out propaganda,,, You are a Islamic protagonist pure and simple,, You are not even interesting,,, I am quite sure that Pakistan will hire you to spot drones,,, It seems to suit your limited knowledge base,,,

Mandate? I real can`t understand what right has US to have a mandate to do such things in the Middle East.
