The gypsies that Madonna "backs" are a separate ethnic group that is originally from India. Nowadays they like to be called Roma people. The gypsies that you are refering to are anglos that adopt a gypsy or traveller lifestyle. It is not the same thing.

Countries and people who are not educated and not aware of gypsy culture and what a negative affect that they create, are obviously naive. Canada is a very good example, where recently the country was in a crisis with gypsy's flooding the immigration system from Romania. By introducing a valid visa requirement, the flood stopped. The bleeding hearts in Canada protested loudly and ostracized the immigration department. However, let them live with these parasites, and their lifestyle, then see how loving they are towards a gypsy. Ignorance is bliss.
