Three incumbents face four challengers for Lennox school board

Question both sides and get involved. Don't be followers, be leaders. Sometimes you'll see the light on the opposite side and it is ok to acknowledge the opposite view. We are not always going to agree because we are influenced by the people aroud us and our environment and that is ok. However, you have to agree that everyone should have a right to express their views freely without retaliation. For example, Is it ok for the Board to save 350,000 dollars? Of course it is! Is it ok to save 350,000 dollars by providing cheap quality, moldy food, to students whose parents go to work early or cannot afford to buy food? You tell me. As a child I experienced hunger and I took a stand for those kids whose parents complained but are not listened, too. Is it ok to hire your friend, who does not have an administrative credential or experience rather than giving all 5th graders a chance to go to 5th grade camp or visit Universities? Priorities should always be ALL children, not just the elite few. Ms. Amaya is a great role model and you should continue to involve her In the community ( I will ) and give Ms Saldana a chance, too. After the dust settles, things will get better. However, if you see things are getting political, stop for a minute and get all facts, and then get involved. Question authority, regardless on what side of the street your standing on! Thank you for getting involved.

Cruz, Fajardo and Ibarra CANNOT take credit for the rising test scores in Lennox. That credit goes solely to Ms. Camarino, who brought in a standards-based program, to the teachers and administrators who implemented this program and most importantly to the students who rose to the occasion and proved to everyone what Lennox students are capable of when given the chance and when held to high expectations. They were elected to the SCHOOL board not a community organization. They should be concerned with doing whatever is necessary to prepare the students in Lennox to compete with the academic rigor that they will encounter in their lives. That is what the parents who put their children in our charge expect from all who work for the Lennox School District. It will be a sad day in Lennox if the reelection of Cruz allows her, along with Fajardo and Ibarra, to maintain the stronghold over the board, which has allowed and caused severe unprofessionalism and dysfunction to reign for far too long. Voters, I urge you to take back the district we all love so much.
