Question both sides and get involved. Don't be followers, be leaders. Sometimes you'll see the light on the opposite side and it is ok to acknowledge the opposite view. We are not always going to agree because we are influenced by the people aroud us and our environment and that is ok. However, you have to agree that everyone should have a right to express their views freely without retaliation. For example, Is it ok for the Board to save 350,000 dollars? Of course it is! Is it ok to save 350,000 dollars by providing cheap quality, moldy food, to students whose parents go to work early or cannot afford to buy food? You tell me. As a child I experienced hunger and I took a stand for those kids whose parents complained but are not listened, too. Is it ok to hire your friend, who does not have an administrative credential or experience rather than giving all 5th graders a chance to go to 5th grade camp or visit Universities? Priorities should always be ALL children, not just the elite few. Ms. Amaya is a great role model and you should continue to involve her In the community ( I will ) and give Ms Saldana a chance, too. After the dust settles, things will get better. However, if you see things are getting political, stop for a minute and get all facts, and then get involved. Question authority, regardless on what side of the street your standing on! Thank you for getting involved.
It is encouraging to see these young people respond and become involved in their community. However, it is important that they look at both sides of not only this election, but every issue that faces the Lennox School Board. Would these students feel differently if their fathers had been insulted and disrespected at school board meetings, as Mr. Navarro has been? Would they feel differently if their mothers had been followed to the parking lot after a school site meeting, in an attempt to confront and intimidate them?
Do these young people support the tactics of Ms. Cruz' supporters, who tried to prevent Ms. Saldana from posting her campaign signs, or those supporters who tore the Ms. Saldana's signs down? There is a saying in Spanish --Dime con quien andas, y te dire quien eres. The equivalent also exists in English "Show me your friends, and I'll tell you who you are."
The disapointment, anger, and frustration that many members of the Lennox community have felt over the past few years is very clearly expressed in these posts. I hope that Ms. Cruz and the other incumbent board members have read them carefully and will act more thoughtfully in the future, taking into consideration all points of view, not just those of their cronies. All decision need to be made out of FAIRNESS, NOT FRIENDSHIP.

Don't you know who he is? His bright yellow truck was seen all over Lennox prior to election night tearing down the signs of those candidates opposing Marisol Cruz. He has been known to threaten those that oppose his views and you can surely run into him at the Board meetings where he is a regular disgruntled visitor who never has a good thing to say about the teachers in Lennox. How Marisol Cruz can associate herself with the likes of Mr. Jose Nuņo should tell us alot about her own character.

Now that we have Navarro and Saldana as part of the new board, we are sure to see many positive changes that will help Lennox children succeed.

Last I knew the talented and dedicated teachers of the Lennox School District taught students not any program that has been implemented by a district administrator. The are always to sides to the story!

Cruz, Fajardo and Ibarra CANNOT take credit for the rising test scores in Lennox. That credit goes solely to Ms. Camarino, who brought in a standards-based program, to the teachers and administrators who implemented this program and most importantly to the students who rose to the occasion and proved to everyone what Lennox students are capable of when given the chance and when held to high expectations. What Cruz, Fajardo and Ibarra CAN take credit for is releasing Dr. Camerino based on rumor and innuendo and for creating a general feeling of distrust and dysfunction in the Lennox School District. These three board members choose to take action based on petty complaints from members of the community. Their unprofessionalism can be witnessed by anyone who attends a board meeting. They CAN take credit for making the district the laughing stock of South Bay school boards. Perhaps these ladies don't realize what they were elected to do. It is not their job to solve problems between teachers and parents nor problems between cafeteria workers and parents. That is the job of the administrators whose professional obligation it is to investigate, mediate and solve those types of problems. They were elected to the SCHOOL board not a community organization. They should be concerned with doing whatever is necessary to prepare the students in Lennox to compete with the academic rigor that they will encounter in their lives. That is what the parents who put their children in our charge expect from all who work for the Lennox School District. It will be a sad day in Lennox if the reelection of Cruz allows her, along with Fajardo and Ibarra, to maintain the stronghold over the board, which has allowed and caused severe unprofessionalism and dysfunction to reign for far too long. Voters, I urge you to take back the district we all love so much.

So what's your point? You didn't make one...those same dedicated and talented teachers are the ones suffering under the reign of Cruz, Fajardo and Ibarra. And as a result, it is those students who may suffer. Thankfully the teachers are committed and dedicated, and so they continue to do their job well in spite of the board shenanigans. However, it gets harder each day to maintain focus when there's a constant barrage from people in the community who are closely connected to those three.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aquarius

This is another day when financial matters cause trouble, as Mars reverses in your seventh house. What started off as a minor niggle with a partner or an opponent yesterday could now escalate into a full-blown row, but at least this will give you the chance to get certain things out into the open. Legal issues from the past may become ugly. If you're pointing the finger of blame at someone, don't get so heated that you accuse them of everything under the sun.
