Although born in the U.S. of Puerto Rican-born parents, I consider myself to be Puerto Rican because it was in Puerto Rico that I grew up and lived my formative years. Puerto Rico is my true home, my nation, and I love it in ways I cannot describe.
One of my greatest dreams is to see Puerto Rico a free country, not subject to its present colonial status. Once it obtains its independence and the subsequent structural changes take place it will be a great place to live; it will be true to its motto: "La Isla del Encanto" (The Land of Encantment). Viva Puerto Rico Libre!

Hey, Jesse Noriega:
There are over a hundred thousand Puerto Ricans that agree with your view.
For all of us statehooders, if the U.S. explicitely states that "a Puerto Rican statehood is out of the question", you will see your ranks "swell" in the millions.
So, if I were you (have the time and money) come during these next three years, join the populares, pro independence, and every leftist group in the islandand most of our mass media; and raise hell (so that our current, pro statehood administration will not be able to govern); and scare away everyone with the intent to invest in our island economy and create jobs. Those are the plans, all under the disguise of "saving 17 thousand governmental jobs", out of over 125,000 jobs lost (during the past 4 years).
It is "radicalism" time in order to "bring down the govt." with the help of the last bastion of the labor govt.(public sector unions); a unionized movement that hasn't been able to organize one single worker in the private sector, for decades. Ideological war time.
Yes, you have to come down to our island for the general strike; where two of our most powerful labor leaders (yesterday) promised that utilities will be sabotaged and the people will suffer its consequences (in those exact words).
Is it our final ideological confrontation? Maybe!
