Why people dislike Puerto Ricans, here's my take from a non PR

Perhaps you need to ask yourself and your fellow compatriots that question. Dominicans are in denial of their African heritage, perceiving themselves as something superior to Blacks from other countries like Haiti.

Correction; Washington will never let PR go as long as PRs wish to have some sort of political relationship with the U.S. and 98% of Puerto Ricans are in favor of such a relationship in any of its proposed forms. As part of the U.S. Washington will protect PR and its citizens from any invading forces and PRs are U.S. citizens for posterity.

That whole black thing was started by our ex dictator trujillo who had self hatred of his haitian heredity. In the same fashion that hitler had self hatred of his jewish ancestry. It was a dark time in my COUNTRY'S history which we are slowly erasing.

However i do not condone racism Its plaguing DR and face it! There is much white anxiety in puerto rico as well. Loiza aldea isnt exactly the pride of puerto rico. Police brutality is significant in the more africanized sectors of your puny island. Us dominicans were supposed to be annexed by the US. But we had too much pride to let that happen so we fought back fot our countrys sovereignity. We have too much history to let a group of mantenidos come criticize what we fought for! Sorry but The average dominican has no respect for that kind of submissive p*ssy behavior. I swear Haitians are more latino than PR is. Lets have a petition to remove Puto ricans from the Latino bracket and replace them with haitians. At least that way they wont be ruining it for other latinos who truly deserve that title.

It all comes out to be ignorace, and pathetic to all we are all human and should get along, but no, I lived in New York city, queens, bronx (born and raised) Boston Mass. and Not all Puerto Rican are the same some are defenetlly ignorant and so are Dominicans, Italians, and more ... My stepfather was Italian and he was a kind men put races. to the color peaple , and the same goes there are nice people some are Dominicans and Italians and black so don't get me wrong because my best freinds are Dominican, Puertorican and black and Italian and more.. those with the negative additude are either races, Ignorant and Pathetic that can,t appreciate any other kind of then them self.

Again you are taking out of your other extremity. The U.S. had to occupy your banana republic twice to save you from yourselves, not to mention that the U.S. initially built our infrastructure to bring the DR into the 20th century.

You have so much Dominican pride that you are living in the U.S. among impoverished PRs along with all of the illegal and legal Dominicans who are coming over in droves. Millions more of you long to leave your third world island to come here, many thousands each year risking their lives in the Mona Strait on dilapidated yolas trying to get to a piece of U.S. soil; Puerto Rico. How many PRs are there risking their lives to get to the DR? Instead of worrying about Puerto Rican status, why don't you take yourself back to the DR and leave PRs to THEIR country.

Puerto Ricans love their island. We have no more problems than are common to any of the 50 states.

It is just more condensed since we are small in territory.

I have been to Florida. Many of us have here in the forum.

West Palm actually sucks in many areas.

True.

Most Hatians i have met are quite decent. They achieve home ownership fairly quickly. The second generation does quite well and a good percentage of them go onto higher education.

Among the highest among AA's.

They have stable two parent families.
