"Race Issue" GOOD REASONS to keep it an Issue!! It has finaly come to mind, that I no longer wish Hispainics to be like the free white man, I want them to continue to speak spainish, dress spainish, act spainish, etc... this way I will as will many others be able to indentify them right away,(very easy it detect them, the way they act, look, and talk, the cars they drive, etc..) I will be able to know when to lock my doors, when to steer away, and the comfort of knowing that I am a legal Firearm Concealed Weapons Permit holder which carries at all times, that I know I can keep my self and family safe. I can already indentify the angry black man, and now the angry hispainic man. So please don't change a thing keep on keeping your heritage and culture right out front where I can keep an eye on it. So lets keep it a RACE ISSUE, and not camouflage it Thanks

I'm very quick to claim my Spanish descent, because I'm a Spanish citizen through ancestry ;) 75%, 3 of my grandparents are originally from Barcelona. The 4th is from Dublin.
So, as far as I can tell, there isn't a drop of African in me.
Take a DNA test. You been brainwashed by the white man. Africa is the cradle of civilization and life. Be proud.

Because all black hispanic people are fake BIATCHS that back-stab black people. I am sick of you fake black hispanic like BLACK PUERTICANS, BLACK CUBANS,DOMINICANS who smile in are face and talk more crap about us then rasict white and want to be white hispanic people!
The Spanish culture and Catholic church reinforce Eurocentric ways of thinking. If I were a black hispanic, I imagined there would be a lot of self hate for anything black. I wish black hispanics were free from mental slavery.

I challenge all hispanics with black ancestry to become part of the diaspora and reconect with the land of Kemet, Egypt, Ham, and Mizraim. Learn about Timbuktu, Mali and the civilizations of West Africa. Relearn your true history. A history that existed before Spain or the Eurocentric Catholic church. Did you know that the oldest Christian church is found in Africa. It's called the Coptic church. Being black is not that bad. We are the original race of the planet. Black Africans gave Europe it's first civilizations. So stop kissing the white man's ars. The black Moors of Africa made Spain into a super power in the 1400's. Stop hating your blackness.

spotted today: one Toyota Corolla covered in primer with a fart can muffler and a giant PR sticker proclaiming, "Mi Orgulho"

Inside were about 20 PRs fresh off the boat. Must've been on their way to the welfare office because they couldn't stop smiling.

Ironic.

Yet, You are posting out of Kissimmee.

You must be a Puerto Rican who fronts as otherwise or live in a trailer park yourself.

LOL

Wonder there aren't any trailer camps in the islands, as a solution for poverty.

Maybe, when we become a state, it will be a way to "Americanize" our people....

Puerto Rico can hardly be equated to the Philippines! Enhanced Commonwealth is so blatantly unconstitutional that it is a waste of time to even discuss such a 'phantom.'
In my lifetime the US Congress will never give statehood to Puerto Rico. One simple reason. The legal system in Puerto Rico is based on Spanish codified law and conducted in Spanish. No state has a legal system that is officially conducted in any language but English.
The lawyers in Puerto Rico conduct their business in Spanish. As a retired lawyer from the US I can tell you that one's acumen with language is VERY important in the practice of law. The lawyers will do ANYTHING possible to keep the system from being switched to English.
The US Congress will NEVER allow a state that does not guarantee that all legal proceedings are officially recorded in English.
Puerto Rico deserves independence. After 500 years they have never been anything but a colonial step-child to the two countries that claimed them. They deserve the right to show they can survive as an independent nation.
Only the US Congress can change the status of Puerto Rico. 1000 plebiscites and referendums in Puerto Rico cannot change this fact. Call and write YOUR congressional representative and Senators to free the island. We don't HAVE voting
representatives in Congress, just
official voyeurs.
Wow! You make it sound like it would be impossible to turn local courts into English. You sure you were a lawyer?!? FYI, federal courts are conducted in English and the transformation of our local courts to English would be a fairly easy task. There goes your (racist ) theory out the door.

They tried trailers long ago. Hurricanes blew them away. Interestingly, I saw one the last time I was in Vieques. I couldn't help but think, "what were they thinking?"

I guess hurricanes do not blow them off in Texas, the Carolinas, Florida...and along the Eastern coast....

I think that we, island Puerto Ricans, just love the smell, feel and safety of good ol' concrete.

They put a couple in Loiza Aldea as well when they had that controversy over the proposed Costa Serena resort.

I think they took them away.

I thought it was sad at the time. Here you had these people who were just humble villagers who lived in these wooden shacks their whole life but they lived with "dignity" and then they put them in these trailers.

It was horrible.

The area around Loiza has become very valuable because of its close proximity to San Juan and the international airport. In decades past no one thought of building anything of any consequence there. Now this once insignificant little town founded by the descendents of runaway African slaves is "on the map" for developers.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
