hey. groupies... you still haven't answered my question.
WHY should america support the FREELOADER state of puerto rico? as I see it, there is NO valid reason to do so ESPECIALLY when puerto ricans really do not want to be a state of the union.
you don't want to pay your fair share of taxes like every american does. you don't want to make english YOUR language. you don't want your children to join the military. jesus! ENOUGH!
go join your hispanic brothers cuba, and mexico.
do the right thing. declare independence.
A declaration of independence by Puerto Rico won't give Puerto Rico independence. Puerto Rico has no power to decide the question at all. ONLY the US Congress can give Puerto Rico independence. The President can't veto the US Congress's decision on this matter. The US Constitution controls this question, NOT Puerto Rico (Article IV, Section 3.)

Write your congressional representatives, if you have any.

just declare independence already, ok? the philippines did, and see where they are?

from what I read, it's true that america has the ultimate decision on what will be done with puerto rico.

BUT the us government has already said they will do what the people of puerto rico decide to do in the vote.

the us government has been saying this all the time. this has been the case with all 3 previous votes.

The only thing PR contributes to America is it is the only island in the Caribbean we as americans can visit without a passport. If they would like to continue being a part of America they need to pay some income tax like everyone else. If not, then they should succeed and take care of themselves.

I know exactly what I am talking about obviously you do not since you are in Toronto where you probably have few Puerto Ricans. I live in the Orlando area which has about as many Puerto Ricans as the entire island of Puerto Rico.

I have no problems with the Puerto Rican people here since they live on the mainland they do generally pay income tax. However, I have a real problem with the fact that just because you live on the island you do not have to so there for my tax dollars are helping to support you.

My opinion is real simple, if you do not contribute you should not reap the benefits of being an American.

You made the mistake of implying that Puerto Ricans have contributed nothing to this society. Big mistake. Do some research before making comments about something you know nothing about.

Ther are approximately 4 million United States citizens living in Puerto Rico, how is that near the total in Orlando?

Puerto Ricans on the island do pay taxes and lots of them. If you have an issue with income tax, contact your congressmen and complain because the United States Congress has granted Puerto Rico that status. How much of your money went to support the richest state California?

Okay, I'll give you this much, that was an exaggeration. I was just trying to get my point across about how large our Puerto Rican population is here. In Orlando we have the second highest Puerto Rican population on the mainland. We are second to New York.

Yeah you are right, they pay "some" taxes such as pay roll tax (which is social security and medicare) and a Puerto Rico income tax which is sort of the equivelant to like a state tax. Mainland Americans pay these as well along with a FEDERAL INCOME TAX.

Look just think about this, there are over 1 million NAP beneficiaries. Puerto Rico's current population estimated at 3,944,000, so this is roughly over 25% of the population who receives NAP benefits. NAP provides nontaxable income without ANY employment requirements, recipients receive free money without incentives for work, which hinders the economic output and development of the island.

As for California being the richest state, that is bolonga because that state is in so much financual termoil right now. So yeah, I can only imagine how much of my tax dollars go towards all of California's frivilous spending, but atleast they pay federal income tax there.

Geez, I thought you'd take it as a compliment. I mean, you're the one with the picture in the avatar. "Bunniluvsyou"? Sounds like a Las Vegas brothel to me.

Firstly, why would I consider "my place or yours" a compliment. Obviously you do not recieve alot of female company because many women would find this offensive.

Secondly, there are no brothels in Las Vegas. The law in Nevada is that brothels are only legal outside of city limits. From this I have also learned your are not well versed in things you speak about.

Thridly, there is no sexual condentation in my moniker nor in my avatar. To me this proves my earlier post you are a pervert.

With that being said, you could work on a few things and you maybe worth while to talk too, until then, stay on subject and I hope you do not have to hard of a time pulling your foot out of your mouth.

Firstly, I don't care what you think about my remarks. You came off attacking Puerto Ricans as if they were a bunch of malingerers. You're clueless.... and I have a woman that puts to shame anyway.

Secondly, strange how you know more about the Nevada brothel business than I do. Did you work there? They probably wouldn't hire ya' anyway, with that two bit White trash superiority complex you got.

Thirdly, you're a liar.

LOL Malingerers are people who fake illness, that comment makes no sense.

So you have a woman who will put me to shame, huh? Well good then don't make perverted comments towards me since I am such a beast. Hahahaha

White trash superiority complex? LOL I never even brought up race, I said I have a beef with Puerto Ricans who live on the island because they pay no federal income tax. I also stated I had no problem with mainland Puerto Ricans because here they pay federal income tax. I also said I live in a community that has a large Puerto Rican population, many of them being very nice people who have there shit together.

So boo you! Go play your little race card some place else.

As for where I go my one small piece of knowledge on how I know brothels are illegal in the cities in NV, it is because I heard it on an episode of Cops once and simply remembered it. LOL

Oh, and I am a liar? You want some links on the welfare state of Puerto Rico and why it is nice named "Welfare Island"? Or would you like me to provide links on what they pay in tax? Because I have links for both.

I agree 100%, but Ricans are typically very dumb. Look at how they screwed themselves with Isla de Vieques.

Great island Puerto Rico is, BUT it is full of semi retarded folks. I still love going there though. Great diving.

Daily Horoscope for November 12

Cancer

You'll be quite happy at home tonight, as the Moon transits your fourth house of home and family; however, your mate may want to go out on the town. You'll be torn between what you want to do and what your most significant other desires. Don't go out if you think you will be miserable; that will only start a fight. Be honest about the way you feel, and don't be hurt if you spend the evening alone this time.
