Missing UK girl kidnapped in Portugal: police

i think madeline's picture should be put on milk cartons all over spain and portugal until this poor little girl is found.Someone must know something about where she is.My prayers are for this poor little girl every day and i hope she is found safe and well very soon.I don't know what kind of people are living in our world today that could think about doing something like this to a child our laws in all our countries our too soft for dealing with scum like this even when they are caught.

Please pass around the pictures of Maddy, put them up in cars, put them everywhere, so she can be found sooner.

It's her brithday tomorrow, let her come home tomorrow!!!

I have family in Portugal and I have a home there as well as the USA....I know the Portugese people, and this is not how they are!!....there is something wrong here!....Portugese people do not kidnapp children, it is one of the safest places on this planet for children.....Are they SURE the people that took this little girl are trully PORTUGESE?...Maybe they are from some other country and were merely residents of Portugal...

The kidnapping of Maddy has exposed many changes that need to take place in Portugal and sadly this terrible crime has brought it all to the surface.

The Portuguese people are friendly and kind and are not aware that their country is still run by the same mentality from the dictatorship era, the news is biased and controlled and Brazilian soap operas keeps the majority like cabbages.

I pray Maddy will be found alive,,,,

Your right and i agree that people are sick who would take a girl that young. who would take any girl at all.Maybe the police are hiding things from us.

i hope she will be faund save and unharm y they are sick people like this the low is to soft, that's y the sick people are doing this..i hope this is not going to be the case of the Nataly missing teen ager in ARUBA...that the police is draging their feet...

Portuguese police quiz Briton over girl's abduction: reports
Local television reports that Portuguese police have searched a villa up the road from where four-year-old British girl Madeleine McCann was snatched, and took a British man to a police station for questioning.

Sky television reports the house, owned by Jennifer and her son Robert Murat, who worked as a translator for Sky, was between 100 -150 metres from the apartment where Madeleine and her family were staying while on holiday.

It added that Jennifer Murat had said that while her son had been taken to a police station, he had not been arrested.

Local broadcaster SIC Noticias says a member of the family at the villa often spoke to reporters and had said Madeleine looked like his daughter in England.

Police sealed the villa for forensic tests, SIC Noticias said.

The search took place as the parents of the girl kidnapped 11 days ago said they remained positive their daughter was safe and vowed to keep up the search for her.

"Until there is concrete evidence to the contrary, we believe that Madeleine is safe and being looked after and that is how we can continue in our efforts," Gerry McCann said in a statement read to reporters.

"We can't even consider returning home at the moment, I absolutely can't even let it enter my head," his wife, Kate, said when asked when she was considering going home.

The McCanns praised the Portuguese police for their work and thanked people for the widespread support they had received.

Celebrity donations have pushed up the reward offered for Madeleine's safe return to 2.6 million pounds ($A6.2 million).

Madeleine was snatched from her bed on May 3 in a popular resort in the Algarve in southern Portugal, just yards from where her parents were dining in a nearby restaurant.

On Sunday Portugal's leading investigator, Olegario Sousa, said some potential leads had been eliminated, but there have been no arrests in connection with Madeleine's abduction.

has anyone ever thought that it could be the parents fault for leaving the kids in the hotel room by theirselves..i mean come on u dont leave ure kids newhere by themselves at all no matter what the situation....if the parents were in the room then they would have their daughter with them...no its not an excuse for someone to take a kid but it is also no ok for a parent to neglect a child...i dont see nobody saying anything about the parents leaving them alone...

What a sad way for parents to learn the lesson not to leave toddlers and young children unattended.

I agree I think it is part the parents fault for leaving the children alone! Who does this? Any parent knows not to leave your children alone especially in this day and age where you CANT TRUST ANYONE! I feel sorry for them but it just bothers me that they walked away from them..

Of course, we all know the kidnapper is the one clearly at fault...but you have a point: Parents should NEVER leave children that young alone at home (or in a new strange place). Even if they are not harmed or taken by someone, they have needs. Maybe they will awaken scared or sick. They can wake up and open the door...then wander out alone and get hurt. They did not HAVE to leave their children alone to eat dinner until 10:30 PM at night. If the parents were younger, less-educated, poorer, they would be in trouble.

People should be aware that this type of kidnapping happens all over the world. It's just not publicized nearly as much when it happens to a poor child in an impoverished country. Parents everywhere listen up. If poor little Madeline is still alive she might have been sold somewhere to someone who wants a child for the sole purpose of abusing them. Grown women are abducted every singe day or lured to places for employment only to be taken into virtual slavery againt their will. HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS REAL. There were two men and a woman taking pictures on the beach of children just a few days before Madeline was taken. Someone noticed and complained that these people had taken pictures of her child without permission. The way it works is simple. A team of people take a photo of a child and send it by e-mail to a buyer. "Is this what you want they ask"? Yes, this one is perfect comes the answer and the child is taken, paid for, and delivered to face a life no child on this earth should have to endure. Sometimes black market adoption rings operate the same way. However, a lot of these children go to parents who never know that they were obtained illegally. A year ago, a young boy was found murdered. His body was lying beside a road here in the United States (I don't remember which state). He had sealants on his teeth, appeared to have been well cared for, and yet when an appeal went out to anyone who could identify him, his body was never claimed. Was he a child who had been taken from another country? Had years passed since he was taken so that when his likeness was flashed all over the world even his own parents didn't recognize him? Who knows? Only the evil murderer who left his body by the roadside can answer that question. I ask everyone who reads this to PRAY FOR MADELINE. If some horrible person has kidnapped this poor child, it will only be a matter of months before she completely forgets her parents and even her own name. Her age and trauma will cause this to happen very quickly. Time is short. ONLY GOD CAN HELP HER. Please pray for Madeline and all the only innocent little ones. Pray that our God and Savior intervenes and has mercy on them and saves them from such a horrible fate. I have prayed without ceasing for little Maddie and ask that you would join me.
