What a coincidence, my ex and three kids are there in the Phils all summer. Can't say that I would be welcome there after the divorce, but I sure do miss the kids. Not much age difference, only five years. The areas that the cultural differences came into play were primarily child rearing and some financial. She pulled herself out of the Philippines through education. Somehow, not being as totally over the top strict about the education of our kids, I became a persona non grata. It just kept grinding until I couldn't take it no more. More than needs to be here, so I'll quit. It is difficult though, and sad.

I do not believe all Filipinas are after money or want to rip men off. As in any culture there are good and bad. I have had a Filipina girlfiend for over a year... she is sooooo beautiful, sexy and petite and is an excellent lover and someone we love to share those simple pleasures in life. No she does not have that domineering nature like many western woman and seems to give my feelings a high priority.

I thought the brits did a helluva job on the opening, it was beautiful, especially one of my faves, Rowan Atkinson....You may not know, but Ralph Lauren(POLO) was tasked with producing USA's outfits for the opening, and the shit really hit the fan here, when it was discovered they were made in China...lol...thought our NBA players looked stupid, tripping over eachother as they all held up their goofy little phones, trying to film everything...usually they just hit the bong, and enjoy the ride...lol...

I saw on PBS the Ralph Lauren/China debacle just used it as a teasing reply to Morons. It just seems when we get the Olympics the world is in a financial mess. Last time was 1948 after WWII that was a real struggle (not that I was there LOL!). Just hope everyone enjoys the show and we don't get a bloody terrorist attack, us Brits are nearly as unpopular around the world as you Yanks.
