Hate mails tagging Filipinos as idiots proliferating after failed hostage-taking

FROM THE STORY:

The hate e-mail, according to Director Ana Elzy Ofreneo of the commission’s Human Rights Education and Research Office, enumerates 11 idiotic acts of Filipinos and was sent to her by someone who is claiming to be a Dutchman who is married to a Filipino woman.

The Dutchman also claimed that his Filipino wife and his wife’s relatives and neighbors are practicing such Filipino “idiotic” acts.

Ofreneo added that the said “idiotic” acts also included items about the sloppy police rescue operation involving the Philippines
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team who used hammers and ropes to enter the bus and pursue the hostage taker. <<<<

We call this transference. From the SWAT acts to the wife's acts to the Filipinos in general.

Poor Dutchman! He might have married an ignoramus. Perhaps an unschooled domestic helper with a culture alien to the Dutchman's. Not the fault of all Filipinos.

Ms. Ofreno should visit the Philippine Forum in Topix...expose the hate mail she received to the public then maybe we in here can compare and give her a clue.

There's only one here who talks about his wife's relatives and I happen to know his name. I'm sure there's only one with that foreign name in the Philippines. Should be fun to connect the dots he he he...

Where was Ana Elzy Ofreneo when all the reporters and radio personalities were systematically being murdered for speaking against the government. Where was she during the Magunindao massacre. Where was she when Jonas Burgos was kidnapped and made to disappear, even when they proved the Army did it.

In the US, even kids kill fellow kids. Do we blame the entire nation and call everyone living in the US lawless? Bad things happen everywhere, and of course, the usual things you see on TV and in the news are the bad things that happen. Rarely do good things get covered because for some reason, the media don't seem to find them newsworthy. Wake up. There's more happening than what you see on TV. You haven't seen the entire Philippines and you haven't even come close to getting to know 1/10 of the entire population of the Philippines.

And poverty does not spell idiocy. Poverty is caused by so many other factors. Plus, you think the poor only exists in the Philippines? Go look around wherever you live. You must be so sheltered or just plain blind to not notice them around you.
