i have news for all of ya that wants to listen!! The United States does not want a base or need a base in the Philippines!We have the largest Naval Base in the Pacific at Guam and damn sure dont need one again in the Phils. do any of you have any idea why we left from Clark Airbase and Subic Naval base. If you dont let me enlighten you! After the earthquake in Luzon that left Clark air base in a bad way the U.S asked the Philippines govt. to help with the repairs. You guess it , the govt. of the Phils would not help at all to fix things there. So we left from that base and it cost the Phils. about 1,000,000 a day after we left in lost revenue and jobs. Now Subic on the other hand was just part of the Clark downfall and we were asked to leave Subic.And we did!!

jmbro, you are wrong on many of the facts regarding Clark and Subic. It was a volcano not an earthquake. And the Estrada government had been asking a ridiculous price for the renewal of the leases. Mt Pinatubo erupting just hastened the decision of the Americans to leave. All the flight squadrons had already left Clark before the eruption. There are many good historical sites about Clark and Subic on the internet.

CSLs are categorized as US military installations that are nominally owned by host governments, but are to be provided for the US’ use when needed. Theres nothing secret about them. Last year one of the bases invited the Philippine press to tour one here in Mindanao.
