in many areas people usually old ladies or ppl of lower intelligence(hint blk 13/ph2) put food scraps outside for animals. even when they have no home or families to take care of. I like to ask why these people do such things? dont they know that it invites rats or other animals to their property, These animals dont have their shots for rabies or other illness? do people care that these cats/dogs may attack their children and cause hurt or even death ? Where i live we have several old ladies (not crazy but weird ,sit around types Chismosa girls) what do you suggest to ppl like this? ask them kindly NOT to PUT(a) out food as it creates a problem ? or just smiie and hope that they get attacked my a sick animal so they can suffer? What do you suggest? do you have ppl like this in your hood(neighbour hood)?

since you asked these people, informed them of the hassles they cause, why not just post the truth on some forum,,, shame those ladies,as it is usually women who put food out for cats, its becuse they are low life non intellegent women, they dont care about others just themselves.Perhaps tthey do this as they are lonely and they want to have relations with you or its an AIDS related . these women could have AIDS since they may have been exposed when they where GRO's .Good luck on your cursade

maybe the low life people with little intelligence cannot grasp that idea of showing compasion and love for animals. The cats are hungry, there is left over food, why not feed it to them? You speak as though the place is clean and their would be no rats or cockroaches if it were not for the food left for the cats. If you had a little common sense you would relize that the cats in fact eat the rats. Would you rather have cats or rats? Your choice!
BTW I am ashamed of many of the people here who show no love for animals, barbaric behavor

Cat's can cause illness transmitted to humans. Humans get these animal-borne diseases when they're bitten or scratched or have contact with an animal's waste, saliva, or dander. I have 4 cats all get their shots. Cats will not eat rats if getting a easy hand out.

I guess it's easier for me to say as we don't have rabies in England.

UK Britain has approximately 7 million pet cats (and increasing), less than 10% of these being pedigrees. Around a quarter of British households own one or more cats; with cats now being our most popular pet, having beaten dogs into second place. Despite a high level of neutering there is an overpopulation problem and up to 40,000 cats and kittens are euthanized annually for want of a home, although this figure shows signs of decreasing. Others are killed illegally e.g. by the 'traditional' method of drowning. One of my pet cats was rescued (as an adult) from being clubbed to death by her previous owner. There are at least 1 million feral cats in the UK. An estimated 90% of ferals die during their first year and many feral kittens never reach adulthood. The feral population is swollen by stray and abandoned cats. One 'feral' found living at the bottom of a rubbish chute turned out to be a terrified pet whose owners had disposed the cat, cat basket and litter tray with the rubbish. Ferals may legally be controlled by shooting or by box-trapping and euthanizing. Some landowners employ illegal methods such as wire snares or poisons (licensed for use on rats). The indiscriminate methods also kill protected species of wildlife and pets, but it is difficult to prove that the snares or poisons were laid specifically for feral cats. I have seen cats which have lost limbs to leg-hold traps ('gin traps') which are completely illegal here

You should read my post again... im arguing from your point of view... in the Philippines it was bad enough with a screen on a window... as bugs still got in... I couldnt imagine going without a screen ... I have seen many cats watch rats run right in front of them and do nothing from getting fed too much to get back at that neighbor I would eat the cats... especially if you get hungry enough

Not much meat on a cat unless it's overfed. Better off eating rats like in China: http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Pedigree cats and dogs have been inbred to the point where they suffer genetic disorders. I would never own a pedigree. As for children starving in the Philippines I am sure people who are considerate to animals are also considerate to people as well. Take some responsibility for your own problems and don't try to blame all the faults on old colonial powers. If you had become an American state when given the chance most of your problems wouldn't exist.

I have had cats for most of my life and have never seen a cockroach except in 3rd world countries, or known anybody to catch anything from a cat. Although some people are allergic to their fur. You have a much greater chance of infection from another human being.

In one statement you disclaim any personal responsibility for your country AND blame other in the past for your problems. Sorry you get no sympathy from me especially since Japan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia suffered much more than the Philippines and their first rate economies now. Put down your Red Horse and spend that money on these three cheap things anyone even the poorest can afford. 1. Screen your windows 2. Take those fuc@ing mosquito breeding tires off your roof and use some elostoseal and a few rivets. 3. You know those big garbage trucks that come by once a week? USE THEM!!! Don't throw your garbage everywhere. Those three simple things will curb most of the diseases and rat problems. But I know you and other won't do it and you know why? Your stupid and lazy to improve your lives with the simplest changes. The poorest can afford all these things so don't give the too poor poverty card, we that live here know better.

Only 2 things that disturbs my sleep in the Philippines, Fighting Cocks too stupid to know when Dawn is, maybe because of dogs barking all night. Seems like Baguio is the worst for the dogs and roosters up all night. In some parts they eat the dogs keeping them awake for no good reason. Here I'm happy to be waken by Tandang, my Fighting Cock. My dog knows I'll come out and beat it with newspaper if he's barking for no good reason at night.
