Cannibalism was a way of life then and we shouldn't apologise for our forefathers behaviour but learn and improve with the resources and lifestyles we now live in. Life is about moving on for the better and provide good foundation for the next generation on what is acceptable and non-acceptable behaviour. We now more internationally linked to each therefore should be conscious of other cultures and sensitive to other races as we live with each other.

I wonder if they tasted good? What was the best part? Maybe they stuffed them like turkeys or chickens?

If you still talk about canibalism in PNG, I guess you need to know your facts and reords right. You yourself seems to be going backwards and can not see civilization process.

What then do you call "War" in the recent centuries. This is more than a canibals using a modern way of destroying human race.

Dr George Brown led European Traders, Settlers, Other Missionaries and Villagers from Matupit, Malaguna and Nodup in punitive raids against the Natives who participated in the killings. The villagers paid fines in shell money as well as their houses being raided and burnt. Initial reports at the time put the figure as over 100 natives were killed. Their ring leader Talili was eventually arrested by the German Administration and sent to Niugini a broken man. George Brown was charged for the punitive raid, but not prosecuted because the prosecutor did not turn up in court.
As far as Talili was concerned, the Missionaries were killed because they posed a threat to his trading empire because they ventured inland where he controlled all the trading. The missionaries stayed and now we are all better for it. As far as I am concerned, the apology was a waste of time.
