Las Olas - David, Panama

"Las Olas" is the 'resort' hotel/condo project in Barquetta Beach, near David.
We have found the beach hot, treeless & nasty. The surf pounds so hard that surfers avoid the water. When the sun is out, you'll bake like a roast beef. We would visit this beach only when too lazy to drive elsewhere, such as Las Lajas (best pacific beach in Chiriqui.

bought condo in las olas, developers are really bad, after they get your money, trying to get them to perform on there promises is not going to happen. really a bad experience. i do not recommend anyone to purchase anything from these people. if you do make sure you have an attorney review all documents before, and make sure in the contract you give them the money and they give you the condo, in good conditon, and not when they say it is ready, for it will not be ready and they have your money. and don't sign a contract that says you will pay interest from when they say it is ready and you give them the money, biggest ripe off in panama, the developer charges you interest, from when he says its ready and the time you give him the money. NOT WHEN ITS IN YOUR NAME, BUT WHEN HE SAYS ITS READY, MAKE SURE IT SAYS YOU GIVE MONEY WHEN ITS IN YOUR NAME AT THE PUBLIC REGISTOR !!! THEN YOU GIVE MONEY AND NO INTEREST AT ALL !!!

My wife and I stopped there during a visit to David area. Besides being very isolated, lacking utilities and services this development's representation was about as low as you go...anyone who buys there will learn to regret there mistake. The first floor units will undoubtedly really experience true beach living...probably in their living room.

I am now investigating the legality of the changs being made. It is my understanding from the Ministerio Viviendo, Barqurttq Nice was zoned Riral Residential. Therefore this can not be changed. Any new covenents will be illegal. Also anything signed in English is null and void. I hope this helps, please pass a long more information is always better.
