just wanna ask something.is there any job order for nurses there? there is an office here in ilocos, phil.said that we can have a working visa as a nurse in your country?is that true, even if we don't have nclex and ielts exams?the placement fee is 80k with a 3500th pesos medical and the rest it cover the 80th pesos, from processing of our documents,tickets..etc.we can down 30th pesos for the processing of our documents so that we will have our contract here for just only 1 week..how fast i was so amazed by that..and we can fly in less than 2 mos.according to them,,..hmm?they said it is direct hiring?as i read all the conversations here i doubted that much.pls reply on me so that i will know the truth, tnx and Godbless

I worked in palau for two years and there is not one instance that i heard that they are looking for nurses there. i just want to let you know that palau has only one big hospital and one or two small private hospitals. the nurses there i am not sure if they are registered nurses since palau do not even have a nursing school or a nursing board to make one person qualify as a nurse. there are about two or 3 filipino doctors there i am just not sure if they are still there.
now, about that recruitment let me just warn you that before you can work there you need to sign an employment contract that is sanctioned by the labor office there and the contract is usually for 2 years. to be sure ask that there is a provisional work permit for you because your work permit will be processed once you are there. the amount being asked from you is way too much considering the salary range in palau. let me just tell you that there have been a lot of filipinos there who have been duped and who were only deported upon arrival. you better ask our OWWA or DOLE if that recruiter of yours is registered. Please be very cautious and do not easily trust anyone with their promises.

I am a registered nurse who was once in Palau. I was a victim of a fake agency who told me I will work as a private nurse in Palau. When I came to Palau I ended up as a domestic helper. I ran away and went back to Pinas. Better back out now else you will end up farming in that country. I'm telling the truth and I've witnessed worse cases there.

Kaz, there are Palauans who would like to hire caregivers to take care of their elderly, however, caregiving is not solely their work when one gets there, one has to do domestic work also. You will stay at the employers house for there is no nursing home or home for the aged there. And I believe one is just being paid $150-$100 a month, less all the taxes, Social security, and health insurance. I have a really bad feeling on what you and your friends are getting yourself into.

i have worked in Belau (Palau) National Hospital before. They don't go to any agencies as they do direct hiring. May mga nurses at doctors na pinoy dun. Kung sino man yan recruiter mo, fake yan

A neighbor's friend told me may direct hiring daw for palau as a bookkeeper, cashier, domestic helper sa employer ng cousin niya. She asked for 30k for the processing fee for all the required documents, medical, notary for the papers, visa processing. The employer will pay for the plane fare. She showed me the contract, it was from the Dept.of Labor yata yon ( I forgot the name) in Palau. They will send the contract back to the employer in Palau after i signed it. The cashier's salary is only $1.50 per hour, the bookkeeper's salary is $1.80 per hour. I'm confused if scam ito or it's true. Coz if scam, dapat they'll lure you with big salaries diba? What do you think? I'm just being careful.

Hi Liza,
If I were you I won't go for it. Better look for other jobs/countries way way better than Palau. I have nothing against Palauans. I have some Palauan friends whon I can depend on in times of need. The problem lies with some Filipinos who are trying to fool other Filipinos who have no knowledge of the work conditions in Palau. |

Hi Bea, I used to live and work in Palau with my family. If you know which restaurant they are working for, we can tract them down as I still have some friends remaining in Palau. Most (if not all) of the restaurants are located in Koror (the city where most of the people live). It is therefore easy to locate them, unless they went outside Koror or off-island. Cheers! |

Do not dream of going to Palau. I've been there. It's ironic, life there is good but hellish. It's a paradise in hell!!
