I can hear it now: perp was mentally deranged due to drugs; victim brought it upon herself by confronting the perp. I say death penalty.

This is a real life spooky and tragic story!!

It is a good time to remind everyone to always secure your home and property as criminal opportunists are always looking for an inside job.

The old Hawaii, where doors were kept unlocked because people had reverence and respect for the law and each other is no longer taken for granted.

Condolences to the Mesubeluu Family.

Porky, news claims that perpetrator entered through an UNLOCKED door. Woman was attacked in her sleep.

Sounds good! But capital punishment was abolished long ago. My condolences to the husband and daughter for their loss, And hope this guy gets sentenced quickly. And none of this Bull from the lawyer or the judge, Buy letting this guy off easy. Give the husband ten minutes and a bat, so he can give his own punishment.

They (the state) should make sure he never see the blue skies of Hawaii ever again. When are we as a nation going to go hard on these offenders? WE need to return to "public hanging". Jail time cost the good citizen money to keep him alive and feed his worthless behind.

I don't believe in the death penalty....I believe is execution and this evil person NEEDS to DIE! Take a life, forfeit yours...that the solution

If he did go around looking for an unlocked door that means we was lucid in planning to kill. He didn't go there to steal but to intentionally kill. Death penalty should be the verdict. Too bad Hawaii doesn't have laws like Texas to execute prisoners for death penalty cases instead we house and feed them and they get the best of life...everything paid for by tax payers! Ironic.. it's like a reward instead of a punishment.

This unfortunately coincides with another meth related stabbing in Palau same day, Saturday. A young man entered his grandmothers room while she was asleep at night and stabbed her to death then went to bed in his own room. The next day he had no idea of the crime he had commited. I wonder how many innocent family members must be slain before the local Hawaiian government and Palauan government deem it necessary to take serious action on this drug that basically turns it's users into evil bloodthirsty monsters. Either turning them insane to commit crimes they don't even realize they're commiting or doing whatever it takes to get the money to aquire more of this filth that gets the lighter classification of "drug". Oh no, it's much worse than that. I know the sorry excuses for human beings walking this planet making money off of this garbage would feel differently if their Mothers Fathers, Siblings, Cousins, Grandparents, Girl and Boyfriends fell victim to such preventable tragedies.

That's right Alii, it is the drug's fault.

Drugs cause people to kill.

Drugs cause people to drive drunk, crash and injure or main innocent people.

Drugs cause people to steal from others to feed their habit.

If only we could enact laws to crack down on these drugs.

Maybe we could have police patrol the streets more, find these drugs that are running around and arrest them. We would need new, tiny handcuffs though because drugs like Ice and Pills like ecstacy are pretty tiny.

Then, we'd need to build special, tiny prisons to keep these drugs housed once they've been found guilty of causing people to commmit murder, etc.

Good idea. I support it 100%

I just looked in my medicine cabinet and broke out in a cold sweat.

All I saw were rows of prescription pills that I know could kill me if I took too many of them.

Someone save us from these terrible drugs!

They are the reason why Hawaii is so messed up!

Forget the people who make a conscious decision to take the drugs, they are not at fault.

Blame the evil, nefarious, plotting drugs!!!!!

When will Gov. Lingle build a new prison to house these drugs?

When will police have special squad cars that can transport these evil drugs to jail?

When will the horror end?????

But it wasn't Sigrah who is responsible for this murder.

It's the drugs that made him do it.

I say find the drugs, lock them up and throw away the key.

I don't blame "drugs". I blame METHAMPHETAMINES and the people who are making money from their sales. Laugh till one of your loved ones are senselessly killed. Another fine example of someone who would rather be a part of the problem not the solution. You've made it clear on which side you're on.

Wow you guys had no idea I was being sarcastic?

Dammit, people are always blaming drugs.

It's not drugs that are the problem-- it's the stupid, lazy people who CHOOSE to take the drugs that are the problem!

No one put a gun to that person's head and forced them to take the drugs.

They made a choice: they took drugs.

They made a choice: they committed a crime.

DON'T BLAME ANYONE BUT YOUR OWN SORRY SELF FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR THE CRIMES YOU COMMIT!!!!!!!!!!

I knew you were being sarcastic, but I also understand what "alii" is saying.

I agree with you a 100% that PEOPLE who use drugs are the ones to blame for crimes big and small--that these drugs themselves are not to blame.

But think about the solution... We can spend our time, money, and other resources going after users of ice, but what good is that going to do??? It is a temporary band-aid, at best.

When you find ants crawling on your counter, you can't go and kill them one-by-one....that won't solve your problems. You have to eliminate the nest... Part of the solution to stopping all of these drug-related crimes is to eliminate the source--the people who produce and sell these drugs.

i believe that much of this is the government's fault... for not going after the producers and distributors (the source as "rasta" mentions in his post) of batu and other "crazy ass" stuff. when i lived in makiki, my friend and neighbor was indirectly affected by the theft of copper-- another get money fast thing people high on drugs (or really stupid) do to get money for their fixes.

people can flip out even on prescription drugs, as many in the public eye have (ie: the lead singer of INXS or Anna Nicole Smith and her son.)

the pharmaceutical companies and the people who profit from them... the world governments and native violent peoples in the jungles of the earth, be it the natural forests or the meth house in your hood... harvesting this dangerous stuff...

my soul aches for all who "escape" reality into the depths of "hell"... human beings without a conscience... the most dangerous thing out there.

love and peace to you all today. aloha, m

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Taurus

Make a big effort to spend time with people you didn't see on Christmas Day, especially if they're older than you or are having a bad time at the moment. You're brimming over with compassion and empathy, which will be really appreciated by anyone who's on the receiving end of them. You're also in the mood to make allowances for people, and that will help enormously.
