"Talibanization: It’s all about Gwadar Port & Transit Trade Route"

Do you think that Muslims were involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on WTC that took 3,200 lives on American soils? If it so, then newspapers of 2001 carried different story, saying that all the pilots who collided their aircrafts with the New York building and Pentagon were from Arabs descent. According to US think tanks and research centers, some of the youth who underwent a regular training of flying with a view to carry out planned terrorism, were Arabs and remaining came from Egypt. They were all from affluent and highly educated families. It is also an established fact that there was not a single Afghan involved in this terrorist act. Then, why did US attack Afghanistan? However, based on the intelligence intercept reports that indicated Osama bin Laden's presence (accused of providing financial support to the terrorist plot) in the mountainous areas inside Afghanistan, the US & NATO troops invaded the region in 2001. As the invasion was very controversial, therefore, US started rationalizing by blowing the theme of extremism and Talibanization. In fact, the sole objective of the US was not to apprehend Osama bin Laden or toppling of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. It was rather the game of possessing the enormous natural resources of Central Asian Republics as well controlling the transit trade routes. Now, after eight years of the invasion, it has become increasingly clear that there was a subtle link between the 9/11 terrorist attack and taking over of natural riches of CARs.

Pakistan Army is presently engaged in massive operations in the north-west of the country where Talibans have challenged the writ of the Government. In order to stop possible suicide bombing, the security has been put on "high alert" in the country. When is this war going to end? It is early to say anything, nevertheless, the conflict started in June 2002, when security forces were targeted in the name of backwardness of the Balochistan province. The insurgent situation escalated when the Phase-1 of Gwadar project was completed in 2005, and a number of Chinese Engineers were made subject of attacks by the Baloch insurgents who see their interest in the port as a threat to their survival. The situation became worst when the Chinese Premier was not allowed to visit Gwadar for opening ceremony of the Seaport, due to security reasons. But, our media and political analysts were not prepared to reveal the truth that the whole issue hinges on the development of Gwadar deep Seaport and transit trade route.

Perhaps, the unrest could have been restricted to Balochistan only, but KKH-II project ignited the whole frontier province as well. Here, the insurgency started by razing girls' schools in the name of enforcement of Shariah in Bajaur, Malakand, Swat and adjoining tribal areas, when China signed MoU in 2004 for further expansion and upgrading of the existing Karakoram highway that links Gilgit to Kohat via Chitral, Dir, Swat connecting Gwadar to Western China. The KKH trade route agreement alarmed many hostile countries.

::About K2::
K2 is a rocky mountain up to 6,000m, beyond which it becomes an ocean of snow. The traditional route to K2's base camp goes from Skardu, which is linked with Islamabad by a good road. From Skardu the route goes via Shigar-Dassu-Askole up to Concordia over the Baltoro glacier.

K2 was firstly discovered and measured by the Survey of India in 1856, and first named for English topographer Henry Godwin - Austen, who explored and surveyed the region.

K2 is taken from the first letter of Karakorum, and the number indicates that it was the second peak in the range to be measured. K2 was firstly climbed on July,31 1954 by Italian climbers team lead by Ardito Desio and accompanying him were Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni. A March 1987 measurement of K2 indicated that it might be higher than Everest, but later that year, Everest was re-measured by a similar method and found to indeed be 778 ft (237m) taller

::K2 Expeditions & Attempts::
It was probably for the first time in 1902 that an organized expedition of Oscar J.L. Eckenstein traveled to K-2 from Baltoro glacier. The expedition was without any guide. Its aim was to explore approaches to the mountain and possibly have a try on the peak. It was, however, harsh weather which prevented it from attempting the peak.
In 1909, a big Italian expedition under the leadership of resolute Luigi Amadeo Giuseppe (Duke of Abruzzi) the grandson of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy, reconnoitred K2.
Two famous British mountaineers, Harold William Tilman and Eric Earle Shipton, explored and surveyed the north face of K2 and its subsidiary glaciers in 1937.
In 1938, the American Alpine Club sponsored a reconnaissance party for a visit to K2 area. The party reached a height of 7925 meters after setting up eight camps.
The next year saw another American expedition on K2. It was led by Fritz Hermann Ernst Wiessner, a German-American chemist and mountaineer. The expedition, along with nine Sherpas, made very good progress on the already-identified south-east ridge.
Another American attempt on K2 was made in 1953. The expedition leader was Dr. Charles Houston, who had also led the 1938 American expedition on this peak.
In 1954, an Italian expedition came to Pakistan to try its luck on K2. It consisted of twelve climbers and four scientists and was led by veteran mountaineer, Professor Ardito Desio, who had come to these mountains with Italian expeditions before the World War II.

What is this "POK"? Any new terminology introduced by typical Indian mindset regarding Pakistan?
K2 is in Northern areas of Pakistan and other side of K2 comes in China.

dear khan ,
you first change the mind set first and come out of your exclusiveness. you ahve given a long list of states and movements . naxalism is the only problem that india is facing. in other states, there have been terrorist problem and it has been crushed or reconciled. naxals are not such a threat that indian army would be involved. paramilitary forces is enough. it should also be noted that there we indians dont need support from western countries like you as we have the capacity to deal with our problem. when you are appling for indian citizenship to come to kashmir?
