it would be too much to wish that this tropical storm would only destroy our aristocratic criminal class in one hit.
This would be a first grade miracle that everybody would rejoice
let our people go free
we must get rid of this political parasitic aristocratic class that is sucking us dry

If you think the aristocracy is sucking you dry, you have no idea what democracy will do to future generations of Tongans. You need to wake up and see democracy for what it really is, a loophole for corporations. The world is falling apart and people still dont see the trojan horse before them.

You think votes count for anything? Dont be so naive. Have you not learnt anything from history? You and i have no power to enforce nor hold anyone elected to their promises...all you have is an idea of how you would like things to be and thats it.

You know what corporatons cant touch? Soveriegn land. At least with a King Tonga will always be in Tongan hands. Choose the lesser of the 2 evils, good kings and bad kings come and go...corporations are forever. Look whats happening in NZ under corporate lackey John Key were being sold off peice by peice.

That is the choice your making for the future generations who have no say.

yes I don't give my opinions from the comfort of my little house in New Zealand,Wake Up,
Tongans want our constitutional monarchy the same that exist today in the United Kingdom,
we want honest institutions, not corruption from the gutters to the top of the tree.
So you believe that a gang of approximately 400 fake royals can govern our country?
That two incestuous dogs can have their engagement party at the most expensive hotel in Sydney, spending approximately $400,000 for one night celebration, while half the population of Tonga exists below the poverty level.
In actual fact the United Nations states that Tonga is one of the 20th poorest countries in the world
if you want to support the king in his lavish lifestyle, you can always give him a voluntary contribution from your own wages,
we can no longer allow him to steal money from the population.
His coronation cost approximately 2 1/2 million dollars US
the New Zealand and the Australian government had to ask for their money back that they gave in aid, as it was stolen from the NGO that was managing it.
Incredibly our country is a rich country, the money from the seven satellites, is approximately $300 million a year. Where is the money go to?
We don't need a criminal king, the issue about land sovereignty can be incorporated into a new constitution to stop any corporations or foreigners from owning Tongan land .
But for your information look up any real estate Web site, selling Tongan homes and land, and tell me, how do you explain this?
Our land is already being sold from under us.
We should start a conversation with our overseas Tongans, to try to get them to understand, the severe plight that is the lot of the current people in the islands
we need to get rid of these criminals
and bring in democracy.

My point Burone is a monarchy fears rebellion, thus the people have a trump card up their sleeve. Better the enemy you can see. In a democratically elected government with democratically elected rules you are subject to capitilist manipulation of the system of which NO democratic country in the world today has escaped. Worse yet, as Bush once famously spouted...its not how many votes that matters its how many get counted.

An offshore investor will not be persuaded by a rebellion of the locals complaining that their power bills and utilities have skyrocketed. They have no vested interest in your quality of life...only their return on investment. Either way you go, democracy will not be Tongas saviour and world history tells us democracy is not the answer because eventually the person with the most money controls both sides of the same coin.

You talk of the severe plight but conveniently forget to mention that alot of Tongans who are poor in Tonga is because they yearn for a western lifestyle that is beyond their means...mobile phones, computers, imported food...meanwhile our "bush" tongans who have upheld the traditional polynesian lifestyle of going to sea and working the land are amongst the heathiest people in the world.
Remittences to the islands was pin pointed as one of the reasons why so many families came to be mo'ui falala and with no aspiration to take advantage of what we overseas cannot do so readily due to money owing to those mysterious offshore investors whose dividends we must all pay for in order to live our daily lives.

I rather have King George rule us than America or China anyday. China is really moving in,seems like they want Tonga and they are bribing our officials for land and naval bases.

Well you will notice that corporate america is trying to counter the Chinese expansion into the Pacific region, as Obama stated they want a "Stronger prescence"...now we have a cable line bankrolled 80% by the World Bank into Tonga. There is a power play going on by both nations not only for resources but also strategic bases...so they offer loans. Google Aquisition by Dispossession...a common corporate tactic used on governments around the world to aquire a nations wealth and funnel it back to the 1% via stealth. Forewarned is forearmed.

I will wash and cleanse my Island clean of these stinking False Tongans, and I will awaken the Giant Maui to shake the fleas of my Island, those useless pigs that were born from my own laho and sperm, how dare they disown their own tradition and ancestors. Fanga kaita'ee
