But yes, welcome to Norway, it is racism in norway, but most to middle east ppl.
And you will almost understand why if I say this year it was 17murders in norway, almost ALL of them was done by NON-Norwegian ppl.

I have been to many countries (more than 40) i must say norwegians are the morst rasist in the world, Now i understand why they funding terrorist groups or so called freedom fighters around the world.

Hello canj from fredrikstad norway, why do you think 17 murders in your country? what about your govt funding terrorist in many other countries killing 100;s my be thousands are they not human beings. ask your own govt minister Solheim.

Norwegians ARENOT the most racist int he world. They just are a lot stricter. personaly, I think people are people regardless of race, but alot of people would call me racist, or prejudice, because I believe countrys should impose stricter immigration conditions. Norway is a beautiful land, with amazing people. And if the minority, like all countris are gonna ruin it, but killing int he name of race, we shouldnt let that be considered the norm. And Norway does not fund terrorisim! There is no proof! That is just stupid.

I think there is no racism in Norway but in North cyprus; where all the Turkish cypriot think they are better than any race. I have been to Norway and also Germany but I love all the places... but Cyprus Issue is different they dont know anything about civilization...

i am considering an exchange program in Norway next year for University.I'm neither middle eastern nor muslim.I am in fact Mauritian and come from Hindu descent. I drink, smoke, toke play rugby and any extreme sports.Would I be prone to racism/prejudice ???

most norwegians are quite allright. there is some racism, and it is more visible towards "muslims" (i.e. all middle-easterns who _could_ be muslims). Smoking and drinking won't make you a popular guy - being socially active and friendly will.

but for foreigners coming to live here for a period, racism is not really a big problem. the problem is the culture difference - here it is quite normal not to shake hands when you meet ppl you know, and they barely say hi to each other. many foreigners get the impression that it is related to them, and that norwegians don't want to talk to them. this impression is wrong, bec norwegians often don't talk unless they feel they have something important to say. i.e. smalltalk is not that developed here.

and ppl seldom talk to strangers on the bus.

I am from Norway and yes, we do not like muslims. not at all. Are you from Africa and not are a muslim you are welcom to stay here.

Not liking a particular kind of people? isn't that a orm of racism? And, how would you come to know whether a [erson is a muslim or not just by looking at him?

There are lot of immigrants and some are illegal immigrant working illegaly in Norway. There many immigrant living in Norway more than 5 -8 years without working permit. Norway government especially in Immigration officers and Home Affeirs ministries are recist and inhuman policies toward immigrants and thier famillies. they don't have any morely status in World Stages. Most Norwegiens societes are good poeples but their governments and policies are worse. Current governments is abusing human right issues and Geneve convention. norweregien society praising a changes and better government for coming elections.

Norwegians wont like you if you are black or middle eastern, because they will think you are a muslim. They dont like muslims because they cause alot of criminality and rape in Norway.. The norwegians wont yell things at you, or do anything to you, they are a very friendly people. But as i said earlier, its the black and middle eastern you should watch out for, because they are very unfriendly. However, if you look asian, spanish, mexican or any of the other you will be very good accepted. ps, if you are a muslim coming to norway, dont be afraid to think you will be the only muslim, because we got tons of them here.

I have stumbled upon this forum as I was Googling to see if african americans reside in Norway. I must say that I am disappointed in what I am hearing here. Many have said, Europeans are past the race issue, but obviously not from what I see stated here! I am convinced it is no different than here in the U.S...Sadly enough, people are living with the corrupted seed from days of old. I am African American and one of my favorite bands (A-Ha) is out of Norway. I probably couldn't come to Norway and enjoy a good concert because of someone else's ignorance. People need to realize all races have issues, and some people just don't know how to act period! So don't judge that's God's job. Reciprocate and show love, or atleast get to know a person before you come to a uninformed conclusion.

You come from India, a country that STILL has a CASTE SYSTEM where YOUR OWN PEOPLE ARE NOTHING BUT ANIMALS AND SLAVES, the "Untouchables".

You should worry about India before you worry about Norway.

hi Norway to me seams alright i think it maters where you are in norway.

i don't thin many people in Norway are racist to blacks but i think about 45% are racist to Muslims so around 10% racist to blacks 5% Racist to asians and rest don't care
