Can anyone date the beautiful designs, cast in stainless steel by Olav Joff. Cast by Polaris Sandnes.
Hallo Rob

Well, we now know why Polaris are going out of business - their products were so good that they last 30 - 40 years. I too have a set of Polaris saucepans and some of the handles have become brittle and snapped. So if anyone has found where you can get replacements, please let me know too. I bought them in John Lewis UK, but now I live in West Australia.

I got 3 Polaris pots for our wedding in March 1972. They are perfect still and have been used all the time - in a family of 5! Only the smallest one's handles - 4 liter, 22 cm - have broken. I'd love to find two new handles for the pot, as everything else is still perfect!!
What a pity they are stopping production!

Looks like there of lots of us looking for replacement Polaris saucepan and lid handles! We have been using our saucepans since 1972 and they are still in very good condition, bar the handles... there must be a supplier somewhere?

Looking forward to using the whole set again.

I too need the D shaped handles for 2 of my polaris pans. I have one spare for my saucepans and 1 D shaped one left from the last time I replaced the handles. I have contacted the company in Sussex that supplied these replacements and they are now unable to help. If anyone has any luck in getting these please would they let me know.

I have had a Polaris steamer since the '80's and used it every day. It has been fantastic. But last night my daughter dropped and shattered the glass lid. Any idea where I might be able to find another? It needs to fit a 20cm pan. I would be so grateful if anyone could help>

I have a wonderful set of Polaris saucepans bought from Peter Jones in London. They used to sell th stainless steel cleaner/reviver and my pans do need a good clean. Where does one find such a product? Or should we go to Amway and try their stainless steel cleaner?<quoted text>
Like you I also have a wonderful set of Polaris Saucepans which are almost 30 years old. When my pans were new I also used their Stainless Steel Cleaner, its many years since my pans needed cleaning. I use Finish Powerball Quantum dishwasher tablets and my pans come out sparkling every day, they are more expensive but definately worth it. I actually need the little plastic disc that sits underneath the knob on my lids.

Yes, me too. set of Polaris saucepans given as wedding present in the 1980's purchased from John Lewis. They are great - nothing sticks to them but I need a couple of handles.
I agree with the comment above - they were made too good (apart from the handles)
