Syria's nuclear end run

In September, Israeli warplanes bombed a site in Syria. Ever since, there's been speculation that Syria was building a nuclear reactor there, with North Korea's help.

Interesting. George Bush was right to include these two states in his axis of evil. Couple that with Iran and you have a ticking nuclear bomb threat. We need to monitor these rogue states as closely as ever, as their leaders are nut cases and can not be trusted. The very survival of democracy is at stake here. Unfortunately, the democrats, especially Obama and those associated with him are willing to sit down and talk with these rogue nations leaders, and would trust them to boot. They are liars and can not be trusted. Tehran has done a wonderful job in stalling and biding itself more time to develope its nuclear arsenal, while the West dilly dallys with ineffective sanctions that have done nothing to slow down Iran's developement of its nuclear arsenal.Syria failed due to our wonderful ally, Israel, which already prevented Iraq from its goal of nuclear weapons with its bombing in 1981 and now syria with its September 2007 bombing of a nuclear reactor on syrian soil. It maybe that Israel has to protect the world again in regards to Iran. Thats right, Israel, the size of New Jersey, with a tiny population.
The democrats are preventing what we, America, as the sole superpower on the globe should be doing. Beware you Obama maniacs, this guy is a menace to our interests overseas.

If only we could believe anyhing the government says about security threats. But we can not.Too bad in the run up to the war against Iraq America's so called intelligence agencies got everything wrong. There were no WMD's, no connection to al Qaeda and 9/11 and no imminent threat to American national security. There was no threat in Iraq and 4000+ dead Americans later we have stirred up a civil war hornets nest. At $12 billion dollars a month and counting added to 28,000+ wounded Americans we are still paying a lesser price than the Iraqi's whose country we have destroyed and replaced with a gangster's anarchy.

Then there was 9/11 when Bush and his band of incompetent idiots did not see a threat to the homeland that was real and imminent. American neo- con hawks want someone to go and fight an American war against Iran.

Let Israel and Iran go at each other alone. America needs to leave Iraq as soon as possible. A war against Iran is not in America's best interest but our bellicose rhetoric placing them on the axis of evil while attacking and occupying their neighbor probably gives them more than ample justification for a covert war indirect against American troops in Iraq.

Iran has ample historical justification for resisting America. American overthrew an elected government and placed the despotic Shah on the throne. America gave Saddam WMD's and looked the other way when he gassed the Iranians with those weapons during the Iran/Iraqi war.

This all may be just another lie. Our government has very little credibility in this area.

blackmamba, you are an absolute idiot!!!

Ask the Kurds if WMD existed when they were bombarded by Saddam Hussein's nerve gas. Satallites don't ly about nuclear reactors, stupid. So you think that by avoiding confrontation with Iraq now, you won't be threatened with a nuclear bomb and long range missiles later, stick your head in the sand dumbo and bury it because you liberals are a great threat to our nation. Fortunately the majority of Americans are alot smarter than yourself and won't vote another idiot, Obama Mama into office, Jerk!!!

Hey Black Mamba, Proud American is absolutely right. It is you liberals that do not live in the REAL WORLD of today and do not or don't want to see the threats that are facing the free world today. The Jihadists are the main threat, as they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal of world domination. Syria and Iran are the main providers of these animals and there is no way that we can let these rogue nations aquire nuclear weapons and long range missiles capable of hitting Europe and the America. You should thank god that Israeli intelligence is as good as it is and that they are doing what needs to be done. You should kiss their buns as well. It is liberals like yourself that are holding back our military of doing the necessary jobs to protect our freedom. Proud American says that your head is stuck in the sand and I totally agree. Perhaps you should keep quiet and do what your best at, dance the Mamba. Shame on you and your types.

And Reagan didn't know hussein was using nerve gas on the iranians during their war in the 80's when hussein was your heroes' friend, right? Always accusing that "liberal" enemy, when it was your great neo-conservative heroe, george w. bush who manipulated the intelligence to justify this stupid war! Remember colin powell lying about those little "nucular" trucks as georgie says, in that embarrasing presentation at the UN? The "jihadists" were not in iraq when the towers were attacked, they were training in afghanistan, and you know what? Because of the stupidity of your heroe george the clown, they are still there training, while we serve as police in baghdad!

perry mason:

WMD's existed in Iraq, that is proven. Most, if not all were either destroyed or shipped to syria and Iran. Hussein was no dummy, he knew they had to go because of the 18 sanctions he disobeyed which was cause enough to go to war. The Jihadists did not exist in Iraq, you are correct on that. The majority were financed by Saudi Arabia and trained in afghanistan and pakistan.
Hussein, knowing his time was up really was the clear winner by making a mockery of US intelligence and shipping off the WMD's. However, US intelligence was correct in stating that Hussein did in fact have WMD's. You liberals can twist the intelligence any way you want but it was CORRECT. And I do agree with your last statement, the Jihadists are still training and we are policing. However,we will need some sort of presence for quite along time for stability. And I am not a George W Bush fan by any means!!!

The really dangerous enemy for America's national security interest is still brewing in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Sheriff Bush's claim that he would get the 9/11 perpetrators "Wanted Dead or Alive" has proven nothing more that hubris. America armed the Taliban and al Qaeda to fight the Soviet Union then we left the juvenile delinquent gangsters alone to plot and plan and ravish their country. We didn't hear from them again until 9/11.

This was a failure of conservatives and liberals from Carter to Bush. Clinton is as much to blame for 9/11 as is Bush. The planning for 9/11 took place on Clinton's watch. Our African embassies were bombed while Bush captained the ship.

Iran as a well educated largely secular democratic Persian Shia country would be a very valuable ally to balance against despotic Sunni Arab allies. This effort failed under the Shah because he was a meglomaniacal despot. Iran would be more valuable to America in this condition. All of the saber rattling is a waste of time. American can't even finish the job in Afghanistan or Iraq. Iran as a hostile enemy is a substantially more troublesome threat. At lkeast an effort should be made to use diplomacy and a carrot. If that fails Israel can and will take care of the stick by itself.
