The Iranians will be enriching uranium in order to be self sufficient in nuclear fuel. It is the fear they will take it one step (or actually several steps) further and enrich uranium to weapons grade that is the core problem. However, there has been no verifiable evidence that Iran has any plans to do this.

I am truly amazed that after the pack of lies from Bush, Cheney and Rice about Iraq, that anybody is actually listening to them. As the article states, Iran is legally entitled to enrich uranium and the USA has no right or business telling a member UN nation what it can or cannot do, under the threat of attack. But the USA has a long track record of interfering in the affairs of other nations, deposing or assassinating their leaders, illegally invading nations on the basis of lies and breaking every international treaty it has ever signed. The USA illegally deposed leaders of Syria in 1949, made war in Korea in 1950, deposed the Iranian government in 1953, organised a coup in Guatemala in 1954, made war in Vietnam in 1955, deposed the Laotian government in 1958, financed and backed an illegal coup in Cuba in 1961, deposed the government of Iraq in 1963 and installed Saddam Hussein, illegally interfered in Honduras and Guatemala in 1963, deposed the Dominican government in 1965, deposed the government of Ghana in 1966, invaded Cambodia and deposed the government of Bolivia in 1970, deposed the government of Chile in 1973, illegally invaded Grenada on the basis of lies in 1983, tried to depose the Nicaraguan government (Iran-Contra affair) in 1989, invaded Panama and kidnapped its head of state in 1989, attacked Iraq in 1990, bombed Afghanistan and Sudan in 1998, attacked Yugoslavia in 1999 and illegally invaded Iraq on the basis of a deliberate pack of lies in 2003. That's just a few examples. So if you want to compare Iraq to the USA, Iraq isn't even in the same league. As I said, the USA is the biggest global terrorist this planet has ever seen and the evidence is readily available to prove it.

Oh VT, I forgot to mention Venezuela, where the US CIA tried twice to depose and assassinate President Hugo Chavez because he had the temerity to recognise the USA as a terrorist nation and even worse, start selling Venezuela's oil for Euro, thus undermining the great US Petrodollar scam that had been fleecing the rest of the world for the past 35 years. Heavy ordnance, probably millions of tons of ordnance on those 70,000 B-52 Stratofortess intercontinental jet bombers with the eight jet engines blowing dark kerosene smoke as they approach their targets.

Can you imagine the sky so full of '52s trailing kerosene smoke that the sun is dimmed?

The president of the country is a consistent liar, and he has a history of belligerence and destabilization of other countries. We don't know what exactly his motivations are, but based on experience we have to figure he's up to no good. Unfortunately it's tough to find any effective way to oppose his actions, since nobody can be sure exactly what he's got in mind. It's a shame, since most of the people of his country are reasonable and easy enough to get along with.

I'm talking, of course, about both Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and George Bush.
