It's meta! It's so you can SHOW them how to accomplish a task, like you would a little child.
They have a herd mentality, which is why you see groups of them doing simple things like going to a post office to mail a care package to the prison. They bring their kids, mother, relatives, neighbors, and anyone else they can find for an outing, to all stand around in the way while the kids go screaming through the building pulling anything that isn't nailed down off the shelves and destroying it while one of them does her business.
The great book of Mexican thinkers and philosphers is a bunch of blank sheets, although I'm sure nessipoop will inform me that there were many of them, and certainly give me all their names...or maybe NOT!
