Oh no the waves are going to hit 3 metres, it's a disaster. Considering that that's barely more than a average tide & much less than in storms, I hardly think it's even worth watching.

Doesn't that depend on where you live? That's 10 feet more than a normal high tide. If that hit where I live nearly the whole town would be under water - we've only got 2 hills in this whole area. A couple of years ago we had 11 inches of rain in 9 hours and combined with a 'normal' high tide it cause 5,000 homes to be inundated and 5 hours for the water to drain away after the tide went out... some places had never been flooded ever before and water was feet deep for a week. I had to laugh at this article below (tho it's not really a laughing matter) and demonstrates the mind-set of Aussies. I think we've all got an underlying death wish. Australians Ignore Warnings As Tsunami Nears: 27 Feb 2010 Apparently Australians are not taking the recent tsunami warnings too seriously: BEACH-GOERS have ignored official warnings of a tsunami hitting Australia’s east coast after a devastating underwater earthquake struck Chile. http://on-walkabout.com/2010/02/australians-i... |
