I was shocked when I recently had the privilege of holidaying in this unique, peaceful, beautiful Island to learn that Australia had set its sights on taking over the running of it. The Government cannot in all seriousness believe it can do a better job, and more importantly it is in the best interests of the Islanders. Can't help but what is the motive behind this takeover - why not loan the Island the money they need or better still give it to them, after all Norfolk Island is an external territory of Australia isn't it? Let's face it more money is wasted on fire work displays and sports events than what these people need to get back on track. I wish the Islanders the very best of luck in their quest to stay separate from the 'Mainland'. Looking forward to visiting again, and again, and again! Love it......

Just out of curiosity are there any Asians or non-whites allowed to live on the island? Maybe I need to go and make my presence known there.

May be you should just piss off .Most are descendants of the first or second fleets and more Australian than you will ever be.

Yes people from Fiji, China, New-Zealand(Maori), Native Australia, Tonga, Holland, England, Germany, Russia, India and many more people from around the world. From what I have seen you post on here I don't think you would be too welcome on the Island so I would only visit for a short while and spend some money there to help the people recover from the hard times that have hit them all.
P.S. I am a well travelled person and have never come across a more wonderful bunch of people any-where in the world.
