Waow, i found this quite interesting. I tried generating a route from UBA Bank in Ogba to Sweet Sensation Restaurant in Ilupeju. Boy was i suprised!!!!

I got turn-by-turn driving direction. The best part of the endeavor was that the calculated route is one that i would have taken if i was actually on the road!!

Boy did i enjoy the "Turn left into Acme Road -OGBA", "Continue straight on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Road -MARYLAND", men this is fantastic!!!!

There was something that also surpised me, when i typed in UBA as the starting point and i did not enter anything in the area, i was surpised when it returned the location of over 30 UBA branches across Lagos, i guess that must represent most UBA branches within Lagos!!!

Thank you Ayobami. We are glad that you found MapNTL.com useful. We were actually encouraged to go into this type of solution after noticing the dearth of Location services in Nigeria. Oh yes we have seen the sleek satellite imagery about Lagos on Google Map and Yahoo, but lets face it, thats all Google has about Lagos. They have no content. Try and search for Association Ave in IOlupeju on Google map or even Yahoo. These companies are not that interested in Nigeria.

Try and search for Zenith Bank's branches on Google and see if it returns a map showing the branches just the way it does for Citibank in New York.

The point is, Google and Yahoo do not have any serious location details about Nigeria. Whatever scanty data Google has about Nigeruia was uploaded by Nigerians. It is left to Nigerians to invest in developing such details for our own use and that is exactly what MapNTL seeks to achieve with assistance from STL. We are updating our datbase every month. Right now we have the location of over 25,000 businesses in Lagos alone. It is our plan to add additional 20,000 business locations by March 2008.

Yes Google Map has more details about North America and Europe than MapNTL.com , but MapNTL.com has more details about Lagos and Nigeria than MapNTL.com

Have you tried using the driving direction map on Tastee Fried Chicken's website? http://tasteefriedchicken.net/ContactUs/tabid ... it is definitely impressive isn't it? I mean with all those animations! But really why would a whole TCF provide some animated driving direction to only one outlet on their website? How does one get to the other outlets? Or could it be that they are ONLY concerned about our good rich folks in Victoria Island getting lost, they don't really give a hoot if their customers on mainland get lost or not? Well action speaks louder than words! So what does this tell me about their website and the company itself?

May be they are not really interested in providing the "Customer's Total Exprience" Or why have a driving direction to only one outlet out of all their outlets in Lagos?

Well mapntl.com actually contains the location of about 7 Tastee Fried Chicken's outlets in Lagos and you can indeed get interactive and accurate online driving direction to all 7 outlets from just about any street, or area from Lagos. You can even go from one outlet to the other or from another business e.g Zenith Bank to any of the 7 outlets
Now tell me you don't like that!!!

Actually, MapNTL.com contains the location of over 50 Mr Biggs outlets, all Tantalizers, Sweet Sensation, Chicken Licken, TCF, etc. Infact you can get accurate driving direction from mapntl.com to over 2,400 restaurants within Lagos alone, now tell me that Google map and Yahoo map put together with their fancy satellite imageries of Lagos contain half that number of Restaurants in Lagos and i promise to buy Google's shares on New York Stock Exchange on monday, aaaahhhh!!!!

I have been hearing about www.mapntl.com and i decided to subject it to the ultimate litmus test by generating a route from Coker Rd -Ilupeju to Mainland Hotel -Oyingbo. Waow. I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of the routes generated on mapntl.com

I tried to compare mapntl.com with the so called interactive maps on the websites of LAMATA, LAGBUS (http://www.lagbusonline.com) and even the Lagos State website (http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/ web/lagos/home) and i could not help but noticed the value that mapntl.com offers.

One cant generate a descent driving direction from one point to the other in Lagos on LAMATA’s website like you can do on the Transport For London's website http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk

The story of LAGBUS is not different. I visited their website http://www.lagbusonline.com/ but i could not find anything that resembles an interactive route generating functionality, what they have is some funny animation stuff that they call routes, how impractical!!!

The Lagos State's website was a disaster!! I clicked on the "street map" link on http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/web/lagos/home and it took me to a different website ( http://www.traxmap.com/maps/nigeria/LagosRout... ) i tried generating a route from Coker Rd -Ilupeju to Mainland Hotel Hotel -Oyingbo just like i did on mapntl.com but the problem is that i dont know how to go about doing just that or am i missing something here?
I could not even find Coker Rd on www.traxmap.com which is the official interactive map on Lagos state govt website!!!

When you compare what LAGBUS, LAMATA or even Lagos State have on their websites in the name of interactive online map, then you will know that mapntl.com is a world class website!!!

You are the same person. I was disappointed y the kind of map of Illorin you sold to me, with no street names, its really bad, You guys sell bad street maps of Nigeria and decieve customers. MapNTL is no different from the other products you have. Please stop this deceit.

Hey paul, am trying to understand your beef with mapntl. Is it that you cannot find your street on it or you cannot generate a route on it? I have used it a number of times and i found it very useful.

Paul, perhaps we could help refresh your memory. You made part payment for our Sango Otta data. When this was delivered to you, you came back to say you could not open it yet you claimed to have professional GIS experience. Whilst we were making plan to assist you to open the map, you suddenly suggested that STL should replace the Sango Otta data with Ilorin map. Being a responsible and customer centric company we went out of our way to deliver the Ilorin data to you. You now ended up getting 2 maps for the price of one!! You forgot that you did not even complete the payment for the Sango Ota and we brought this to your attention, you promised to send the balance, but have you? 1year later, you still have not fulfilled your promise of completing the payment, i sincerley hope you are not suffering from acute hallucination. Now you want a refund so that you can get 2 maps and still pay nothing. Well you thought you were wise.
