Obama spurs New Zealand vote on gay marriage

Spurred by President Barack Obama's public support of same-sex marriage, New Zealand lawmakers were expected Wednesday to cast a first vote in favor of a gay marriage law.

It wasn't 'spurred by Obama'. We've been having this debate for years. It was spurred by the bill being drawn at random from a ballot. It might amaze you, but we're capable of thinking for ourselves down here. We were the first country to give women the vote.

I love NZ. Just came back from a visit there a bit ago.

I'd move there, but people my age aren't allowed to immigrate.
