So we can maybe secure public ownership of our beaches, which unless the present law is repealed will fall into the ownership of the tribal elite. |

*huge sight*.....he's right Killa. not only that but everything including under the water for 12 nmiles (don't quote me)could be longer!
To be brutually honest Killa. I wanna be able to walk the great great grand children on any beach in Aotearoa, from North to South, East & West of thess beautiful islands without no signs saying "Private Land - Trespassers Beware" or anyone of the bro's saying "Sorry Rock, you can't come in, this is private land"!!! you hear me, ayyye?!!? well, I want it corrected so I can. tell your people to make it happen...and sign it. Do your bit, people.
I'm printing the form off now. Although, sadly, I don't see any mention of the word "binding". |

what are you so upset about? it's for our future!
If your gonna keep looking backwards, there will be no future, and it'll be status quo, again! You have a "real" chance to change it right now!.......whaddya reckon? |

Who cares? We need to come together at some point. I have already collected 60 signatures and will be aiming for many more. It is high time we united and said no to our rights being trampled upon. Enough of being treated like third class citizens in our own country. |

Judged: 1 Yes amazingly this is the first vehicle for non Maoris to unite, and this madness that's been building since the 70s. I think we're finally beginning to realise the whispers in the smoko rooms and at dinner partys after first looking around to make sure no Maoris are in earshot hasn't achieved anything. Time to get in their faces and fight fire with fire. We've had enough of race based legislation and pandering to Maori radicals, all we ask is one law for all. |

10,000 people have volunteered to collect signatures, so that's 40 each and you've already exeeded that. |

Judged: 2 2 2 Talk sense, you buffoon. It is the Mario that have tried claiming the air and water to deep sea depths. I guess the Mario, who were less developed than the Neanderthal of 50,000 years ago, were deep sea fishing from their wakas? |

Judged: 1 1 1 lol when was the last time any NZ government agreed to be bound by a "binding referendum"? They never take us seriously, unless there's an election riding on it, and there won't be time to hold a referendum before this years one. |

Judged: 1 1 1 It's a bit rich that they even have quota provided under the treaty for orange roughy, considering it wasn't known to them until the fishing industry started hauling them up from the depths in the nineteen seventies. You forget, they also tried to claim the radio wave spectrums too! If it aint nailed down, they'll nick it or claim it. |

First opportunity this afternoon and I got 22 signatures in a 3 hour period, 2 refusals on the grounds they didn't understand [duh] even after I tried to explain the intent of the petition. Incredible anti-Maori sentiment from some people and in those situations it's best to steer the conversion toward the task at hand.

Judged: 7 7 7 Is there a referendum to keep privately held sections of beach open to the public? NZers already cannot access 1/3 of NZ's coast and about the same for lakes. Why does the NZ government treat Maori property rights differently and why does it create different and lesser forms of ownership for Maori? And why did the proposed Foreshore and Seabed Bill only apply to Maori? One law for all? Yeah, right. |
|
|
Judged: 7 7 7 Maori had and maintained fishing operations before the arrival of the Pakeha. The Treaty guranteed a property right to the sea - something which, by the way, exists independently of the Crown - so the Treaty merely protects something Maori already had. |
