New electronic music scene sweeping Noumea & it's environs

Over the past two years, a new sort of entertainment is establishing itself in New Caledonia. The Association for the promotion of art in the Pacific (A.P.A.P.)has been promoting outdoor trance parties all around Noumea,Paita and Tontouta. With now 14 events to it's credit, the association has held the Earthdance for peace festival for the third time around. A.P.A.P. organize events to raise money for charities. I saw on your website that some of your events were held in a relatively untouched environment.

I’m sure you already deal pretty well with basic onsite pollution like littering, human wast etc..
But I just want to know how you address issues like:

- Loud Noise that can cause stress on animals and influence their lifestyle (most forest animals hunt during the night).
- Electro magnetic radiation from electronic devices on insect’s navigation system.
- Impact of people stomping on microcosm.

I know theses impacts might appear insignificant compare to the mining exploitation or the crazy real estate development but remember that every impact counts.
Isn’t there a paradox there with your endorsement of the concept of “eco-warrior”?
Just something to keep in mind for your communication strategy.

Remember that bringing people to nature is not always the solution to make them realize the impact of their lifestyle on the environment

yes, these are issues to take into consideration, I agree. However, a herd of elephants (whats left of them at least) also stomp on microcosms. Volcanic eruptions earthquakes etc also have electromagnetic effects on lifeforms and effect nocturnal habits of fauna. The impacts that a one night party might have on the environment is outweighed by the change in consiouness that our events might have on people. I would much rather low impact events to take place than mining, pollution, war, multinationals, and we could go on for ever. The point is that we are very close to the point of no return,(if not allready past it) Yes you must realize that what has been done is ireversable. 30% of living species will disappear in the next 50 years, 50 to 60% of the human race will die because of climactic change. The Oceanic conveyor belt will stop functioning shortly and a new ice age will snap the earth into deep freeze therby eliminating most lifeform as we know it today. So we could look at the straw in our eye and spend time debating wether what we do is really bad or useless and forget the mote that is blinding most of the people around the world. That mote is consumerism. Ruthless multinational terrosism that scares people into thinking that if they dont have the latest HD tv or what have you, then they are not worthy of breing human. Check out the film "Surplus", terrorised into consuming, a real eye opener.Humans have been dancing in forest since the beggining of time immemorial, so we think that they should continue to do it. Eco warriors are trying to get the younger generation to be aware of what is happening. We find that we must prepare you guys to survive the future, rather than try changing it, because when the ship is lost, you either go down with it or try to find a life boat.
