Thousands pray for separate state for Gorkhas in India

Gorkha or Nepali so called, has been used by India or Indian in past and in History and, our people contributed their life so faithfully as our culture and custom has taught us, even they sacrificed themselves without hesitating and without complain, And I am sure I don’t need to explain all this because every one or even whole world knows very well about this. But now when we ask for small piece of land to take rest and to live with peace for our better tomorrows, and with proudly of Indian identity, as separate state Gorkhaland, for which our people had served and sacrifice their lives, now India Government and the Constitutions is under problem and hesitating to give our rights. But I would like to request to all the citizen of India for the positive thinking instead of insulting and condemning. Come forward with peace to help us to give our rights as we help you Once upon a time.

it is our birthright-and we will take it...do you know how it feels to be called a foreigner in your own country?
a person from any other state in india living outside is still treated more as an indian than us who have been here since the beginning of time.its not fair taht we have to give proof for our "indianness" everytime we step out of our houses.isn't the gorkha batallions sacrifing their lives in the borders enough or the fact that the indian national anthem was composed by captain ram singh thakuri-a gorkha-enough?? we are active participants in enriching the culture and the spirit the nation.
all we r asking for is what is rightfully ours...

i can feel that buddy....it is true....but i personally feel our government is neglecting our gorkha people as well as people from north-eastern states...if they neglect the development of this region and the aspirations of these people for too long then i think we are sitting in a mine which would explode in near future..(it's already started when the naxal movement begin...

i feel the same that goverment of india always ignore notheastern people i don't know why, but it's enough indians eye splashing only when some NRI'S,
acheive something and though they hate their identity as indian.
simple thing is that why goverment of india &people ignore our own gokha community.
this is not first time northeatern always ignore by goverment as well as rest of india.Though i'm not a gorkha or northeastren but i understand their pain that how it feel's when people treated you as a forigner in your own country.
I wish time changes and our people get their part of rights and indian identity.
And please stop racism against notheaternrs as well as anybody.

Gorkhas have their own "separate piece of land". It's called NEPAL, hell it's an independent country. They should be thankful India lets them in for study and employment purposes and they don't require any visa. They have almost similar rights and privileges as Indian citizens. What are they complaining now?

They can only keep praying for a separate land. Darjeeling is a part of West Bengal and that chicken-neck region is a very sensitive area for military needs. It's against India's interests to allow another state in that sensitive region.

Woohi or Phoohi...what ever your name means ...pls go through the history of india ...do you know that the political map of india as you know it today is possible only because the gorkhas fought countless battles against the princly states and independent kingdoms of the pre british era and defeated them so that india could be formed???? was rthere an india before the british got here ....no...india as we know it today was just a cluster of small kingdoms , fiefdoms ruled by maharajas & nawabs....do you know about teh role of teh gorkhas in the nation building process??? and another thing is that you are mistaking the nepali for gorkhas ,...pls note that gorkhas are not nepalis...strictly speaking ...gorkhas are as indian as any bengali or gujarati or punjabi or any other indian for that matter....in reality why we want gorkhaland is because of people like you who still think that gorkhas are from nepal and so nepalieven after all this years of independence bringing which the gorkhas had a big role ...but never publicised for teh simple reason that we are not good at marketing ..... so when we gorkhas have gorkhaland we will have an identity in india so people like you and millions others will knoe that we are actually indians and not nepali citizens..........i do not know which pond you live in but before you comment you should travel a bit in india and find out that there are over 10crores of indian gorkhas in india...indian citizens ....thsi does not include the nepalis who come to india in search of work and other facilities without visa to which they are entitled as per the reciprocal agreement between India & Nepal in 1950..........and another thing that you should know that we gorkhas came to india with our land .... much before indian was independent....and the "chicken neck" region was never a part of bengal ....it belonged to Sikkim and later to Nepal which was ceded to the British by treaty in the 1800's.....so we came with our land ....we are paying our taxes to nepal's ruler and then suddenly the land became part of india and started paying taxes to the indian union .....it was not our choice but a political compulsion........so then solves the matter of coming to india with our land ....as for the region being sensitive region ....yes we understand it better than any other indian and the whole world would agree that such sensitive area cannot be better manned and protected as by the gorkhas....and so gorkhaland is in the favour of national security....hey by the way...do you know that there is Gorkha Regiments in the Indian Army....known for it valour... and that the language of teh Gorkhas is recognised as one of teh official languages if India as per the 8th schedule of teh Indian constitution ....and that one of the signatories to teh Indian constitution was a Gorkha by the name of Barrister A.B. Gurung.....and that the statue of a Gorkha freedom fighter Sahid Durga Malla has been enshrined in the central hall of the Parliament of India right opposite to the Prime Minister's chamber....and still people like you who live in some small pond like a frog call us outsiders.....SHAME ON YOU ...Woohi!!!....GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOUR POST ANOTHER COMMENT!!!

I little bit confuse when i read my above comments but i also agree with that.
i do not write much but say one thing people who said gorkhas are nepali should must go through the indian history or get lessons of indian history, they understand itself.
india is just a pieces of land divided in many kingdoms and india border area is much sensitve than any other country gorkhas do a lotfor india to shape india map.

Human beings are different in character and attitude depending on how they have grown up. We are a social responsible animal, human can live together with many differences but not the differences created for discriminating.

Now the VOICE of freedom is raised again in Gorkha Land, why? something is their that they cannot deserve anymore.

I support it and pray that the Government understands the views of people and treat humanly.

I sincerly hope that the leader for this demand of seperate state is genuinely looking for the development of gorkha people and not to further his own vested interest...
