i have read all the comments people have written, i go back to marrakech every month to see my boyfriend, I am always welcomed by people, but i see a very dark side also, yes i know what glasgow boy is saying, but trist me that happens in many countries in the world, its a form of rascism of your own people. money does talk in morocoo and people are often ripped off. But the biggest problem i believe is lack of education in that place, people are not educated and hence their midnsets havent changed they struggle like asians and brits have for many years wwith east/west values, they on the one hand welcome the western world, ideals, values, music, films etc, but at the same time resent them. They use religion as an an excuse and cant differentiate between religion and traditions, tehre is however a new generation of morocans emerging who understand this and educated people who can chnage their thinking and beliefs and decide for themselves...there is abit of sarcasm and sniggering going on about westerners, and quite rightly so, some men and women go to morocco to "buy" whatever goes. The kind is also prostetuting his people, 10 million toursits per year, he is selling his people, as they say you can buy anything you wnat out there, anything goes..this isnt good. Also this merging of different cultures is hard and going through the learning curves, people dont know whether they should be what they are or be like europeans, they are learning all the bad things from the western culture not the good things, although i sometimes wonder what are the good things left in western society. I cant generalise, because we all experience different things, i have to say I have had good and respectful treatment all the time, but i understand what your all saying also...i do believe in the proverb, when in rome do as the romans do, respect and you will get respect back...

I find this peice really ironic from my ex wife who 'buys' most things in life including there relationship in Morocco, she showers him with gifts, sends him money and then has the gaul to say respect thir culture it really is funny as i have been woth this woamn for 14 years and know her v v well.

GTG is a superb example of a rich middle aged western woman who has bought a younger man, with her wealth, it is this type of person that is runing your country they show no respect for your culture or traditions for them Morocco is a place to have fun,
