Genghis Khan was reputed to have consumed huge quantities of alcohol. Ergo, alcoholism is not a hangover from Soviet times. To blame the Soviets for all kinds of negative impacts on Mongolians is a widley spread anachronism and not worth further evaluation. Since the cabal took over the political legacy, they have been a bad paradigm for the Mongolian population also because of their excessive drinking habits and their refusal to deal with problems. The male population is pretty much aware of this fact and behaves accordingly. The growing number of female addicted alcoholics is pretty much of the same concern to take into consideration. As long as the ruling class represents a bad role model, things won’t change for the better.

This article is very old, and I whilst I agree that the problem exists, I think is somewhat exaggerated, since I haven't seen more intoxicated people on the streets of UB than anywhere else in the world. As a matter of fact, I've seen less drunkards there than in London or Amsterdam. Anyway, I'm off to a bar for a couple of drinks!:) Cheers!:):P

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
