I don't know about that. greece was created by Germany in those years. But to think that (especialy in Balkans) only your nation is indigenous and ancient pure, while all others are barbarians is foolish to say least.
They should leave ancient history to the historians, whether ancient hellenes were one homogenus tribe/nation, or was it absorbing culture in question, were the other tribes around them hellenised, or were they hellenes them self.
The modern greeks are not them in any case, nor are we the ancient Macedonians, although everyone can believe in his/her own myth, no problem.
They been damaged by nationalism, they curse and spit on the most close people to them, geographically and in other sense. So this (nationalistic) myth is unhealthy in fact.
