well, sometimes when people say that toleisomw people are so manangaw, i say that's not true!!!
becuase not only toleisomw peoople can stab and do stupid stuffs...just because were from the west side doesn't mean we are the only ones who do those...

Hi Marvin and all. It is unfortunate that the islands are the way they are now. The infrastructure is yet to support a sustainable modern-day economy. The case is sad yet given a semi hunt and gather type society thrown straight into a modern system and make to vend for themselves. Yes, many would say there was foreign mandates like Japan and the U.S. the last 100 yeaars or so. But we fail to acknowledge the painful facts of neo-colonialism and their deliberate long effects. After so many years of indoctrination to capitalism and Christianity, they leave. Historically we see the colonizers leaving corrupt Banana State after Banana State.

We have to remind ourselves also that the islands suffered heavily under the brutal iron rod of the Germans and Japanese. These emotional scars left a significant scars that still can be felt today, most especially in the case of Chuuk. We are quick to point a finger but forgot their violent pass. No one knows the atrocities in Chuuk but all remember the 6 Million Jews killed by the Hitler administration. When we calculate the ratios proportionate to population, Chuuk suffered worst.

Chuukese are generally considered the most friendly people in all Micronesia along with Kosrae. The social problems stems from poverty and a violent pass under the hand of their numerous colonizers.

This is a sad situation... however everyone who has negative thoughts about micronesians, you should look around you before you say anything... United States has a high crime rate... in micro you dont find parents kiling their own children or husbands and wifes killing each other.. we deal with our problems. This really should stop, because micronesia is such a small nation but this shouldnt give anyone any rights to talk bad about micros!
