Don't be afraid to ask questions. Find out if they've had Asian friends, and what are their experiences are with Asians - then you can better gage if you want to continue to date them. Find out what their likes and dislikes are.
Here in California the examples of the Mexican women who have married Asian men, are usually Mexican-American (born in US) women who have went to school with Asian guys (Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc.) and

I've dated a couple of Asian guys and looking back on high school I could have dated more. California born Asians are aggressive and laid back at the same time. Once you get comfortable asking a lot of questions and become friends with who you might be interested in, it will become easier to ask them to lunch.
The Asian men being non-agressive is really a recent development, because of the intellectualism and high honors students they are labeled as being. But I think Asian men are agressive when it comes to school, business, making money, etc.- So I feel Asian men can be casualy agressive in dating, by asking a lot of questions.
