A Hopeful Juarez Is Finally Back on the Map

May 25, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Atlantic

Like any city, El Paso, Texas, makes goofy, oversimplified tourist maps for visitors, but in 2010 it oversimplified the map so much that it deleted its violence-plagued neighbor to the south, Ciudad Juarez.

So, are we suppose to forget and ignore the mutilated and headless bodies being found throughout the southern border?? not easy to do, as much as Calderon and officials would like people to forget the violence and spend dollars going there....some of us have been scarred for life just hearing of the attrocities against other human beings as though human lives mean nothing. Perhaps these cartel personas (human like) are a different breed or a cross between human & alien... from another distant planet?

I agree with you Ima. First time I went to Mundonarco or Best gore, I was shocked to see what's actually going on in Mexico. It's absolute madness over there and very sad.

Add to the map, free photographs of you holding a head for every two friends you take to visit Juarez.

What a beautiful article! I don't know why all the naysayers have to poke fun at or demean such a beautiful country. Sure there a few bad apples over there but every country has that, including America. How quickly we've forgotten that Dick Cheney was once in power when we criticize President Calderon. I'm sure that more work needs to be done but Mexico is definitely on the right track now and will soon be booming as all the lovely tourists from around the world come to sample our many charms.

That will never happen, as it stands right now heads are still rolling, kidnappings still happenning, EVEN INNOCENTS are experiencing atrocities beyond belief! Mexico is the worst country in the whole world. Their favorite sport? KIDNAPPING for the pleasure of TORTURE & HEAD SLICING. It needs to be NUKED out of existance and a new country formed.

That place is out of control. Hell even Mexicants don't want to go or live there. As a matter of fact people should not be allowed to even look in that direction of Juarez. Yes I know my wife is from Mexico not Juarez I might ad. So less not go that direction she is a USA citzen and won't go there.

You say sample "our" many charms, yet you are in El Paso? So many bad apples here that you have to make your house into a fortress.
P.S. I live here in Mexico.

Yes, Varina....we're ready, with Fort Bliss & air force base in Alamogordo I'd say we're ready. Some of us have been ready for awhile wondering when this BUSINESS is going to be over once and for all! Lets get with it!!

Washington has been ignoring the border region with Mexico for a while now, much to the liking of the criminal element from Mexico. Some say the element is already here in the States, and has been for some time now. Much more should be done by the American Government to "quarantine" this violent epidemic before its spreading cannot be contained.

Isn't it great? We live in country where people don't get killed. We live without crime. Some of us so great we desire innocent women and children to be killed by a nuclear weapon. Now that is what I call American. That is what we are all about. Arrogant self righteouse fools.

But the crimes here in Mexico are so over the top. Many people bring up a few big things in the past that happened in the USA to use them as an instance.

Those things happen here every week. When a robbery is made it is often a whole restaurant full of people. That would be big news in the USA.

Nobody is crime free, but the minute I walk out the door I am on instant alert here in Chihuahua. Something I never had to do in the USA.

I know no one that wants anyone killed. I take that back. The worst of the worst criminals no matter where they are from.

You want to meet arrogant people. These people that live here in Mexico without a doubt the most arrogant people I know. They do not have even respect for each other. They do not seem to care about what happens to the other person. Americans are the most giving people on earth, period.

Mexico always looks better to Mexicans who have left it. It will always look better in your rear view mirror.
