I've said this before many times but no one listens or believes it could happen with the Ft Bliss expansion. I'm sure anyone would rather live in Detroit or New Orleans over Juarez including the Mexicans fleeing their country. Juarez is about the most violent city in the world and don't pretend some of that isn't spilling over. A lot of Juarez is spilling over, not as much in El Paso proper but look at Anthony, Sunland Park, San Elizario, Canutillo.

it is up to us to pass the word that this aint true.
how contrasting this is? is VERY much like this scenario:
A UFO lands in the front lawn of the white house in the middle of a live televised presidential address to the nation at that same front lawn.........AND STILL THE GOVERNMENT WILL DENY IT!!!!!!.

Do you go to Bel Air? Obviously parents of Bel Air students have no reason to think it's very safe in this town.

El Paso is a Mexican shithole. Cartels kill there with impunity. There Barrio Azteca is as bad as it gets for Surenos.

Curious Statistics wrote: The numbers game sure is amusing. They can be arranged to defend pretty much any proposal. Twenty nine states have record unemployment and this is interpreted as Things are gettting better... Well, just what does it take to have a crime part of the report. First, a report. How long does it take to get an El Paso cop to a crime scene? Lets have a poll! Some victims of car theft tell me hours they waited. Same with home burglaries... Be patient, get it filed, even if you need to take a day off from work if youre so lucky, and get the report filed. In the meantime, remember the cops have no legal obligation to provide protection so we're all on our own. Be Trained, have a plan and get your neighbors to join you! Safety in numbers is a real fact, only if they all support public safety! The cops in town don't respond quickly because most of them are too busy setting up random, and un-Constitutional, vehicle checkpoints throughout the city. Very safe "fishing" trips for them. For obvious reasons (ie: they simply can't afford the premiums regardless of a perfect driving record) most older un-insured drivers are the most cautious on the road, and there are many in El Paso. Surely, criminals all! Police everywhere are becoming more pro-active in searching out "crime", by whatever means they can, as opposed to being responders. Supposedly, their prime function. If "prevention" is becoming their MO, look out America! There are many history lessons if you accept that one. As for "prevention", I'd rather throw my support behind the Health-care industry and Smokey the Bear.

Couple of points, what is the basis of the searches being unconsitutional? Can you cite case law where this proven? The plan to have checkpoints are announced in advance. The only thing I have ever seen challenged is at what point you are allowed to turn around to avoid the checkpoint.
There is a legal requirement to have insurance to drive just about ANYWHERE in the world. That requirement is not an option based on affordability, age or driving record.

this reminds me of a 4th grade problem the teacher started. he said which is heavier 1000 pounds of steel or a 1000 pounds of feathers? Over half the room said the steel, after explanation, a quarter of them still did not get it. i still remember the debate, you just have to realize, some people just don’t get it....

Rey, I tried to respond to your points here but the overlords of this site must have pulled it. Media blogs controlled by the right do this consistently when confronted with arguments they're unable to counter, yet they don't hesitate to publish any Aryan rant that comes along. "Fair and balanced" my ***! I'll be surprised if you get to read this.

And how is the 5th grade going for you at the moment? my point exactly.... if you go back to the start of this forum.....you will see a debate about El Paso not including the crime from across the border. It seems that some here cannot distinguish the difference between El Paso and Mexico! Had you actually read some of the previous post, you, would have "got it". The fifth grade was better, to answer your question. You see, back in the day, there was none of this, just pass the student to move em on…..so ¼ of my fourth grade class was held back. Till they “got it”. Apparently most of them are here on this forum...where did you go to school?
