Since she can't read English, perhaps her attorney should translate the Arizona Enabling Act to her. She's clearly not qualified to hold a govt position!

Well if the people she wants to represent speak only Spanish, perhaps they should move home where their representatives would be able to communicate with them in Spanish. It would seem to me that illegal citizens should not receive our government's representation...period.

Sorry. NO sympathy here. This is NOT Spain, Mexico or places south of the border. THIS IS AMERICA and most of us speak English. If you are TOO DAMNED LAZY to learn it, get out. We are perfectly willing to help you if you humble yourself to our laws and customs. If you continue to be ARROGANT and insist everyone kowtow to you, you deserve the ratty reputation that will follow you. I LOVE to learn to speak other languages. I HATE to have it crammed down my throat that I have to learn it or else. It's MY country. You don't like it, leave it.

The article says: "San Luis City Attorney Glenn Gimbut said Cabrera's accusations were "garbage," and the case is fundamentally about what the legal requirement that a public official read, write, and speak English really means. "If you're allowed to pick and choose qualifications as you feel like, where does this end?" Gimbut said. "Does this mean Osama bin Laden will now be on our ballot, nevermind that he's not a resident, nevermind he's not a citizen, nevermind he's dead?" He's got a valid point, one that the wannabe candidate chooses to ignore for the sake of foreign nationals. What else would she advocate for them?
