I'm skeptical about anything Lillian Koller touts as a great idea. You know there's something shady about this.
We are losing our jobs and drowning in Lingle's taxes, so why do we have to pay for free housing, free medical, free food, free air conditioning, free clothes, free education, etc. for the Micronesians?
Bush invited them here so why isn't the federal government paying for their luxury living? I cannot support my own family and I have to support people from foreign places? |
Most of the Micronesians have everything free but they also work so have double the wealth of the average Hawaii family. If they are working they shouldn't receive the free benefits. I'm sure they are nice people but we cannot afford to pay for them when we are unemployed or poor.

suck it up, feel the pain

why waste our tax money on non citizens? let them get a real job and let them buy their own health insurance like everyone else. The Democraps only think about giving handouts to get more votes.
Lets stop this nonsense once and for all. Rethink how to spend tax money wissely. Cut out and investigate all the fraud thats going on within their own organization. |

1 Family you need to learn how government works. The Executive branch does not have the power to levy taxes, only the Legislative. In other words - the taxes which you hate so much are a result of your Democrat-controlled House and Senate. Thank you come again. |

1 of course Lingle could of challenged them but she abandoned Hawaii and took long trips including the campaign trail to push for Pain and Old McDonald. |

1 Steve, I would agree with you on some of the idea's Koller has put forth, however, on this one I agree with her. We must stop being the caretaker for the world, especially when the Federal government dumps noncitizens on a State and then expects the taxpayer to cover their cost. As I've stated before, we should have the same laws as Australia. You want to come live in Australia, you must have a skill or trade that is needed. Secondly, you must have a sponsor that is a citizen of Australia. Because of these rules, they don't experience the same problems we have. You want your EBT card, free medical and dental, free housing, and cash assistance? Then you will clean up our parks, roadways, streets, and any other project that requires manual labor. Simple. |

1 This is ridiculous, no, down right idiotic, and must be stopped. And yes, the feds should be picking up the entire cost as it's their compact agreement that is costing this state so dearly. |
If only people would remember this at election time and throw out the democrats. Of course, that won't happen in this welfare society.

This is idiotic! But citizens or not, nobody should be getting free benefits when we are all struggling.
If my kids have to work and help out, why can't the adults? |
I have a relative that will be laid off, and look at the bright side. She'll be home for her kids and won't be paying for child care, she won't be wearing out her car sitting in traffic, she'll have time to clean the house and have dinner ready for her husband, she'll have time for Christmas shopping and to socialize. In return, she'll have to cut back on a few luxeries for awhile and adapt. In other words, she'll be the woman my mom was, and that ain't bad.

She did challenge them, in the form of 57 (that's FIFTY-SEVEN) vetoes at the end of the legislative session. 34 of them were overturned. What's funny is that the Democrats actually were going to overturn the veto the bill on the gas tax, but "decided" to leave it in effect (thereby saving everyone a few cents / gallon). Yes, that is right, they (pay attention now: Democrats) wrote legislation that raised the tax on gasoline. Lingle vetoed it. Democrats threatened to override the veto. Thankfully they changed their mind, since they realized such a blatant and obvious tax increase would be political suicide. But then again, doing something out of fear instead of principle is what the Democrats are all about. |

There are 4 groups of people, diffent language and customs, that makes up what so called MICRONESIANS:
1. Yapese 2. Chuukese 3. Pohnpeians 4. Kosreans I'm obviously a YAPESE and I'm not on welfare or get any governemnt support. In fact, I don't know of any YAPESE whom taking advantage of these benefits meant for locals. This is really ashamed. |
Yapese, do not forget that Palauans are Micronesians too!
Don't worry, here in Hawaii when they say Micronesians they talk about FSM. Palua, Guam, and Saipan are in the good group. |

ts too late now, they are here and all we can do is help them. If the government cant pay for them then I think the state should w/our money, otherwise the hospital is gonna eat the cost. Hospital will go bankrupt, and then no one is gonna have any care at all. If Micronesians and Non-citizens max out of their 12 Visits then they get more sick and sick because they wont come after 12 Visits. Then they all go to the ER because they are super sick and better yet, they get admited. We as Citizens or the rest of the people who wants to go to the Emergency Rooms will soon dont have room for us and I am sure some of you have been to the ER and be seen like 3 hours later, imagine if they are full. Were all gonna die. If the government wont continue to help, I think they should stop new ones from coming in and just keep the ones that are already here as is and not to roll over to the new basic plan which is limited.
