my girl-friend and me have a room to offer in a great flat in Sliema, directly at the promenade (sea view :)!) from July on. The price will be appox. 250 Euros. The flat is complete furnished (incl. dishwasher, washing machine, dryer) and based in the 8th floor, the room itself is approx. 16m² big. Guys in Sliema or St. Juliann's a decent and modern room for at least three months rental and not in the summer is minimum 200€(good three bedrooms flats in this areas start from 500€) plus Internet 10-15€(depending on the number of the flatmates and the type of connection) plus 50€ or more but hardly less (depends on the lifestyle of all the flatmates) water and electricity (common tariff for foreigners: "Domestic=0" you will never pay "Residential=1,2,3 etc" rates because is only for Maltese passport holders) plus €5 the gas where appropriate.

One small (10 kg) gas cylinder 15€.

One unit of electricity is 1KW and cost around 0.25c so keeping the AC\Heater (12000BTU\1.5KW) on at full power will cost you around 0.40c per hour.

So all included is minimum 250€.(OK, if you are a lucky you may get something cheaper if you find someone who get a good deal and he is willing to share that with you)

Please check photos and all the info's on the flats before jumping to any conclusions.

If you rent a flat in Malta from agencies or "agents" you have to pay them half month rent.

So here is small example:

You the "foreigner" find a three bed rooms modern flat in Sliema at 600€ for 6 months.
You will have to pay in the beginning 600+600+300=1500€
Then you will have pay the Internet connection plus a deposit 35+100€=135€(getting the deposit back sometimes will be a pain in your back side)
Now you want to rent one room... but, how much?

OK the fair way it is 200 + 17 (The agency fee divided by 6 months and then divided by 3 rooms)+ 8 (the deposit for the Internet, just in case if you will never see it back)= 225€

But to all this ad your extra costs to get that flat (where appropriate: phone calls, taxis or buses if the agent does not pick you up, but in many cases they will, time spend etc). Now ad the responsibility you have for the flat plus sometimes the "bad luck" of paying the full rent in your own if you don't get someone (yes, finding the right people to share the flat) etc.

After you do all that please tell me if you wanna be super honest and do charities and rent the rooms for only 200€ because the rent is 600€. No you can't do that (OK, if you don't have other "interests" regarding the flat mates or you are not in the middle of December when nobody is around to rent your rooms) because renting the "three bedroom" flat has economical reasons in the first place.

Conclusion: The room will be minimum 225(rent)+15(Internet)+50(bill s)+5(gas)+5(your enormously big profit)=300€per room for one person (for two ad 50€ extra for the bills).

I seek a studio, one bedroom or share accommodation including any available on uncommon properties like a houseboat, beginning near the middle of October for about one hundred fifty a month including utilities with a semi quiet female, male, family, etc. My plan is to stay a minimum of three months but I want to remain permanent depending on employment. The few things I require are a safe secure clean area, hot water, Protected Unlimited Fast Internet for access to my educational materials or work, and a washer for clothes but little else matters to me like a kitchen because I usually go to local eateries for food. A bed is optional to me because I normally prefer ( not an expectation ) a comfortable sleep sofa to save space when not in use during the day but I also got no problems resting on a regular couch for the same reason or maybe even a reclining chair that converts flat if they make such furniture. I know that seems strange at first but I choose movement before luxury and if such small differences bother you more than interest you in hearing why, then it would be best if you ignore this advertisement, classified or post without a reply because I rarely understand people who rely on acting like everyone else for existence, fear asking questions, fail to help, etc. 

My point is that individuals that buy stuff like Gucci or Armani just to inpress others are opposite to me. 

The fact is I live a Non Smoker, Vegetarian life but am fully tolerant of anyone who consumes meat : I avoid buying products made from animals like leather, I enjoy going to places like all night cinemas - fitness centers or diners at various occassions, I consider myself gay friendly despite being a complete heterosexual and finding acts of affection like kissing somewhat bothersome if witnessed, etc.
