Hi,

I'm a Maltese-Canadian girl making her first trip to Malta.

We are coming from Italy.

I must be totally out-to-lunch because no matter what I google or search I CAN NOT find a ferry that will get me from Salerno to Valletta!!!

PLEASE HELP ME how do I do this????!!!

As far as I know, I don't think that there is a direct ferry from Salerno to Valletta. Maybe you should first cross from Salerno to Messina and from Messina you need to get to Catania where you can catch a ferry or flight to Malta.

Alternatively, you can rent a car from either Salerno and drive up to Catania or POzzallo where you can catch ferry to Malta :)

Thank you.

You have just confirmed what I found out (today)......if I had a car I could take the ferry from Salerno to La Valletta but I don't. And they don't have the schedule ready for that far into the future anyways. ;(

I called the Ferry Brokers in the UK today, DirectFerry something?...after a long search for their phone number for Canada....hurray for Face Book!!!!!

I can take a ferry from Salerno to Palermo and then to La Valletta but the cost goes up considerably.....and it's in Euros...so I've decided perhaps flying from Napoli to La Valletta...it's in Cnd dollars and is wayyy cheaper.

The weird thing is that the flight goes from Napoli to Frankfurt and then to La Valletta? This might be ok because there is a 7 hour layover there...so we may get to see some of Germany as a consequence of this change....which maybe totally cool!!!!

I don't know why the flight does this, but like I told my traveling companion I'm sure this makes sense to someone? LOL

Thanks again for your reply.

You can swim, take a boat, ride a skidoo or a dolphin, surfing an option or wait 50 years for a bridge to build.

Just take a train to Reggio di Calabre, then cross the Messina Straight with the ferry. Take a bus to Catania and then ferry to Malta.
or else fly from Roma directly to Malta.
you can also fly from Reggio to Malta with Airmalta.
Good luck !
