Reunion LKY ?

sebagai orang sarawak...gw ok aja..tapi orang politik di Malaysia masih tidak berani...

SINGAPORE
A Glance Northward

Lee Kuan Yew speaks of reunion with Malaysia

By Todd Crowell and Roger Mitton Kuala / Lumpur
SOME THOUGHT THEY DETECTED the hint of an impish grin flitting across Lee Kuan Yew's face as he answered the query. The senior minister, 72, had just delivered a major speech on the subject, "Will Singapore survive Lee Kuan Yew?" He had answered that question affirmatively -- with a proviso that the country maintain its tradition of strong leadership, exemplified by his successor as prime minister, Goh Chok Tong, and his team of advisers.
In an expansive mood, Lee opened the floor for questions and was asked if he saw a possibility that Singapore might rejoin Malaysia. Singapore had left the federation in 1965 after two stormy years -- a traumatic event for Lee and his colleagues. The senior minister said he could see an eventual reunion if Malaysia were to adopt the meritocracy of Singapore, without giving any race a privileged position. For 25 years, it has been official Malaysian policy to favor Malays.

"If they go the whole road with us, then I say we rejoin them, because this is what we fought for," said Lee. The process would "take some time," he acknowledged. "But the road we are going is to pursue maximum economic benefit. If we assume it to its logical conclusion, which I hope will be the case, it would mean the differences between Singapore and Malaysia will narrow.[Reunion] will be difficult to achieve for a very long time, but I hope it will happen."

Lee must have known his remarks would make headlines and raise eyebrows in both countries. Asked for his thoughts on reunion, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said: "I do not think it is time yet ... maybe one day." The ability of certain racial groups in Malaysia to compete on an equal basis was still open to question, he noted.

Even so, both sides would probably agree that there is increasing intercourse on a personal level. Lee himself remarked with some regret how talented Singaporeans were moving north, citing one Singaporean chief of a large multinational whom he met in Penang six years ago. While any reunion may be a distant dream, the two countries certainly seem to be moving closer in many ways.

Disinilah ketidak pahaman anda terhadap pemikiran Lee Kuan Yew..

Beliau berharap nantinya malasya dipimpin dari orang2 Singapura..

Itu sama artinya menginvasi..

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aquarius

The emotional atmosphere is quite potent under this Lunar Eclipse, evoking a sense of crisis. The problems you've been experiencing with a certain person lately come to a head during the next fortnight, making you feel that you have to take drastic action or lay down the law. Yet this could make the situation worse than ever, especially if you act from a sense of panic or desperation. Take things gently and don't throw your weight around unless it's absolutely necessary.
